My Christmas Lust List

I love this time of year, I really do, probably more than most, I think I'm more excited than my 6 year old. And now that it has started to look wintery outside, I'm getting more excited.

Normally, at Christmas, I don't want people to buy me anything, I'm more of a giver than a taker, I tend to put a lot of thought into what I buy people and will shop round the ends of the earth to get something amazing. This year, I have somewhat failed at this, and have been very interested in what I would like for Christmas.

So, naturally, I thought I'd give you all a little bit of a snippet of what my mind is lusting after.

My montage above is a bit of a fail also but I couldn't get it to look pretty so after hours of trying different ways, I just threw it all together.

These items are all genuinely on my list to Santa and if Santa is reading, I have been a very good girl this year =D.

Voi Jeans Onesie from Bank Fashion £55

I reeeeeeally want a onesie, they look so comfy and snuggly. I did want one that made me look like a giant reindeer but have decided against this and thought a plain/normal one might be better. My reasoning? Well, the onesies look so comfortable that its likely I would leave my house wearing said onesie, a friend of mine told me that this is not socially acceptable, to which I say 'PAH' I defy you social acceptance, however, I don't defy social acceptance so much that I would go to the shop looking like a giant crazy reindeer.

UGG Women's Bailey Button Triplet Bomber £230

I've wanted some proper UGGs for a while. I tend to buy a few pairs of the cheap version every year, and they never last. I bought a pair this year that I wore for a week and they already started doing that horrible fold thing at the back and side and from what I know, UGGs tend to last quite a while. They are warm, comfy and look how pretty these ones look. I do prefer the grey to the light browny colour and I prefer the ones with the buttons on the side. However, at £230, I'm pretty sure these are not going to be under my tree on Christmas day. =(

Grey Faux Fur Trim Snuggle Socks £12

Don't you just love a good pair of warm fluffy socks? I have loads of fluffy socks, I barely wear normal socks anymore. What? I get really cold feet. These snuggle socks look lush and are perfect for lounging around the house in my onesie =)

GUERLAIN La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Parfum £60

Admit it, you thought my whole lust list as going to be me wanting warm comfy things, didn't you?

I normally get a perfume each year from my mother in law and that will normally last me until or just before the next Christmas, so during the year I try loads of samples to see if I want to go for a different one the next year. So I tried this sample and its gorgeous. Its a very sweet, girly smell, not something I would normally go for but maybe I'm getting girlier in my old age.

Vichy Idealia Smoothing and Illuminating Cream For Normal to Combination Skin £22

I tried a small tub of this that I received in my September GlossyBox. This cream is amazing, I made the tiny tub last nearly 4 weeks and my skin felt fantastic. Its the first cream I have ever used in my life that tackled all my problem areas. I'm desperate for this to be back in my life.

Star Wars Stormtrooper Acrylic Necklace £11.48 incl p+p

How cute and nerdy is this? I love necklaces like this and the nerdier the better. I fell in love with this as soon as I saw it but alas it has been sat on my watch list on eBay for quite some time. It will be mine. Possibly. Maybe. Probably not ever. booohooohooo :'(

Rimmel Lycra Pro Matte Finish Mattifying Top Coat £4.59

I think the whole matte nail trend thing is yummy and for this price I would expect this matte top coat to be pretty good. I did buy a cheapy version a while back but it was complete and utter pants, truly shocking. So I'm ready to try again with a better product, I might even buy this one for myself.

17 Holo Nail Silver £3.99

I have never had a holo, and I really want one. OK, maybe not this particular one, I'm not sure. None of the small shops in my small town sell this one or the GOSH one so I would have to get one online. Have you used this one? Was it any good? Can you recommend any?

Vivid Lacquer stamping plates £5.09 each

Vivid Lacquer is a seller on etsy (here) that i also follow on Facebook (find the page here). The stamping plates are so cute and the designs on them are bigger than your average stamping plate so would be easy to get full nail coverage. I can't pick just one stamping plate i want, i have to have them all. There are 7 to collect and they are very popular, so if you are thinking of getting any, it's best to move quite quick. Saying all this, i want every item they sell, when i can, these will be my first franken/indie polishes i will have in my possession. But for now, I'll have the stamping plates, just the stamping plates.

Well that's my Christmas list, there's loads more i want but that'll do for now. So, in conclusion, I want to sit around my house in a onesie, with snuggly socks, adorned with a Stormtrooper, smelling gorgeously girly, with a really smooth face, doing my nails and adding boots to the equation if i need to go to the shops.

Let me know if you have bought or are now going to buy any of these items.

NOTD: Christmassy Red and Gold

This is a quickie NOTD, and also the first of my Christmassy nails. They are a simple red and gold but they looked really Christmassy to me. Yes, I'm aware that I am way over using the word Christmassy already.

For these I used 2 coats of Nails Inc London- St James. This is a vibrant red and applied really well. Not only is this my first Nails Inc polish but is also the first time EVER that I have worn red nail polish. I'm still not 100% fond of it but don't quite know why I have stayed away from it for so long.

For the stamping I used Barry M Gold Foil and a stamping which I am not sure of the name or number.

It's also the first time I have used studs. I have seen loads of ladies using these and they always get them to look so gorgeous, regardless of what colours or design they use, so I had to try them. I love how the gold stands out against the red. I did have studs on my thumb as well, but sadly, I have less than a nub on my thumb as I had full on snapage (definitely a word shhh) so it's not in the picture because its horrible.

Have you got all your Christmas shopping done? I hope you are all looking forward to a lovely Christmas.
Oh, and if anyone sees the snow, send it on down my way.

NOTD: Nearly Nude

A simple NOTD for today.

For quite some time, I have been looking for a really good nude-ish polish that I really liked. Then I bought More! magazine when it came with a free Models Own nail polish, I opted for the Nude Beige. Models own polishes are normally £5 and the magazine was £1.50 so it was a bargain. Being the complete tool that I am, I forgot to post about it here at the time of getting it.

Anyway, its a really nice colour and it applied perfectly. It was opaque in 2 coats, although in certain lights, you could still see my nail line so I added another coat just to satisfy my OCD.

I also used Barry M Diamond Glitter on my thumb and ring finger. This is part of the Barry M Jewel Glitters collection and is absolutely gorgeous. It is a clear base and has 4 different sizes of hex glitter, and best of all, the glitter is holographic. I am completely obsessed with this glitter at the moment and have been adding it to as many of my mani's as possible.

I did try to catch the holographic glitter in all its glory, but as you can see above, this was a bit of a fail without the ever absent sun. It is lush though, honest.

I have taken pictures from a few different angles to show you how the colour can change in the light, sometimes it looks nude and other times it looks like a coffee colour.

Well that's my first time with a nudey polish. What is your favourite nude polish?

What was in my November GlossyBox?

Aaah, I'm sorry, I know this is super late, but I wanted to get it up before the Christmas boxes turn up. Better late than never, right?
Again, my picture taking is absolutely terrible, lack of light you see, so please excuse the grayish tone to them all.

So, as you can see, the box is normal, it is the pretty light pink colour as usual.

And Novembers theme was Stocking Fillers. This made me happy, I love Christmas and any references to it make me giddy as a child. I'm proper in excite mode or Decembers box to arrive.

Info card-same as usual with products, descriptions and prices.

And onto the products we go.

Dr Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm- This BB cream gives a natural bright and glossy application for natural, fresh looking skin which controls sebum production from sweat preventing streaking.
RRP: £18 for 50ml. Sample I received is 15ml.

I'm quite a fan of BB creams, and having received a DR Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm in my October GlossyBox and being very happy with it, I was quite happy to receive this one. I did notice that it takes a little bit longer for this one to 'sink' into the skin, so I had to be careful when putting a jumper on straight after that I didn't rub it off in one spot and have a massive mark on my jumper, still quite pleased though.

Crabtree and Evelyn Himalayan Blue Hand Therapy- This award winning hand cream takes moisturisation to a new level with shea butter and ceramides 3 and 611 to reduce moisture loss while promoting the skins hydration level.
RRP: £14 for 100g Sample I received is 25g.

I don't know if you agree, but hand creams are something I have trouble with. I can never find one that I am 100% happy with. This cream is really nice and settles into the skin quite well without leaving behind a greasy residue. It has got a a visible (doesn't seem like the right word but we'll run with it) scent to it, its kind of a soapy smell. The one thing I would say I really don't like about this item is the packaging. Its that metal tube type thing, and with this packaging, if it gets knocked or squished in your handbag, it will keep that squished shape and when you open it, the cream comes flying out of the top. That's about it though.

Alison Claire Natural Beauty mango Body Butter- A delicious blend of organic mango and cocoa butters will leave your skin feeling wonderful.
RRP: £15 for 200ml. Sample I received is 50ml.

This is another one of those products I sniffed a lot. Although the smell isn't that strong in the tube, once you rub it into your skin, the smell seems to get stronger and is absolutely gorgeous. The cream is not too thick and again, settles well into the skin. It's perfect for the handbag and works very well.

Nails Inc Porchester Square- one of Nails Inc's best sellers.
RRP: £11-£12 for 10ml. Sample I received is 4ml.

Yay, I finally received a nail polish in my box. Yes this Nails Inc one is tiny but its perfect to have in your handbag as an emergency nail polish. For these reasons, I haven't tried this yet. It looks like a nudey/stone type colour, although you cant really tell from the picture. I'm just pleased to have got one so I don't really care what colour it is.

And Finally:

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant- A unique rice based powder that gently exfoliates skin, leaving it noticeably smoother and brighter.
RRP: £38.50 for 75g. Sample I received is 13g.

This is another one I haven't used. I will start using it in the next week or so as my skin has taken a dive because of the bad weather and my current products aren't really doing anything, so time for a change I think.

I'm going to go back to working out the overall value of the products in each box like I did in the first couple because I just think it gives you more of an idea on how good the box is, and if the value comes in over what was spent by me, then that's a happy time.

So, based on the RRP's and the sizes of samples received, I calculate the value to about £23.71. My calculations may be slightly off but if I'm correct and I include the postage cost in how much I spent, this box basically had £10.76 worth of freebies in it. Technically. I'm happy with that.

So, its December now and the next box should be out within the next fortnight, fingers crossed it's something Christmassy (that's a word, trust me). Sorry this one was so late, I promise I will put the next one up on time.

Hope you're all having a good week and not to affected by the cold.

Polish Days-Bling

This is my first Polish Days Post, I had been umming and ahhing for ages whether or not to sign up, in the end I thought 'why not?' and went for it.

Polish days is a fun monthly 'event' that loads of bloggers get involved in, and each month has a different theme.

Although technically, last month should have been my first one, illness stopped me, but I wasn't going to let that happen again, so excuse the photo fails, I took them late last night to make sure I managed to get it done and I don't really have any good lights for picture taking.

So, this months theme is BLING. Everyone loves a bit of bling, and when I first found out what the theme would be, I had loads of ideas going through my head, as it got closer, these ideas dwindled because bling is something I tend to fail with monumentally, so my final mani was a last minute type of thing and to be honest, it looked much better in my head than it did on my nails.

I used a base of Barry M Denim (lush matte blue-until I added top coat) then I took an old silver necklace and cut bits of the chain off in small lengths. I then added some top coat and stuck them on differently on each finger.

Then I took out my micro beads, I have loads of beads in the wheel that had mixed together, and in the wheel, they look really pretty all mixed, so I poured them on in between the chain curve on my ring finger. These took a LOT of re-adjusting. Then of course, I added the top coat.

I do like this look with the chains on them but think I will plan it a bit more next time I attempt it.

Hope you like them.

Check out the other peeps taking part below.

NOTD: Halo 4 Nails

Polishes used: W7 Black, Rimmel 60 seconds Camoflauge, Rimmel I <3 lasting Finish  Green Grass, Barry M Gold Foil and Silver Foil, Barry M Denim and Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream.

Aaaaah Halo 4 has been released. This would have been a good day, had I not awoken to my Xbox missing from our bedroom, and Hubby engrossed in Halo 4 on MY Xbox in the front room. You see, Hubby is somewhat of a Sony fanboy, that is until an Xbox exclusive comes out that he really wants to play, and so, he steals my Xbox. And, against my wishes, I became a Halo widow. Sob.

How to fill my time? Halo nails. I spent all day doodling what I wanted to do on each nail and was pretty confident it would go well. Well, better than my Borderlands nails anyway.

And BOOM, epic-ness.

Now, I will be the first to admit that these are not perfect, they are flawed, but I love them and lets face it, sometimes, perfect can be boring.

My favourites are definitely my thumb and ring finger.

Spartan thumb- I used W7 Black as a base, Barry M Gold foil for the visor and Rimmel 60 seconds Camoflauge as the Helmet armour details.

This was quite easy because it was the first thing I knew for a fact I wanted to do and how I wanted to do it.

Halo Index finger- W7 black as a base and Barry M silver foil for the word. OMGosh I had no idea how difficult it could be to write neatly on a nail. I quite like how the O turned out.

4 ring finger- The 4 symbol, W7 black for the base, Barry M silver foil for the symbol and Barry M blueberry ice cream or the detailing/highlighting. Again, I'm really please with this one, it was quite difficult to get right but came out OK.

And lastly, the pinkie- because this was an Xbox exclusive, I had to get the symbol on there somewhere. TBH, this turned out pants, but only if you look closely and it was quite small on my pinkie so no one could really tell. This was Barry M Silver Foil base and Rimmel 60 Seconds Green Grass for the X.

You may have noticed that I don't have a single photo for my middle finger. This is because the design on the middle finger was a filler. I honestly had no idea what to do on there. Initially I tried to recreate the light shine on the game box cover, and that turned out shocking, looking nothing like it. So I did the simple gradient you can see in the whole hand photo. Blue and silver, that reminds me of Halo and it seemed to fit in pretty well.

I hope you like these, and, if you're a fan of the franchise, head on over to Gert Lush Gaming to see what they have to say about it and maybe let them know what you think of it or if you're still on the edge about buying it.

And don't forget- Spartans don't die, they just go Missing in Action.

What's in my October GlossyBox?

I've done it again haven't I? I haven't posted for over a week, massive slap on my wrists. Luckily my October GlossyBox arriving reminded me that I do have a blog, and that I do need to post on it.

As you can see from above, this month we are back to the normal pretty, pale pink boxes.

This month, the theme of the box is DIY Beauty, and I'm back to loving GlossyBox this month, the products are back to their normal standards. So the DIY theme is products that would help to achieve a cosy and indulgent night in, creating a spa experience and pamper yourself.

You will also notice, that instead of the usual cute GlossyBox stick that holds the tissue paper together, we have a cute GlossyBox Supports Breast Cancer Care sticker. This is in support of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every October box that is sold, GlossyBox are donating 10p to Breast Cancer Awareness.

The usual info card. I'm going to go back and look at my other info cards, because for the first time ever, I have noticed there is writing on the back. Maybe I was just always too excited to get to the products. Surely I cant be the only one that has never noticed this.

Aaaaah pretty.

So, first product is up.
Anatomicals Don't just clean it woman, scrub it Body Scrub- A pink grapefruit body scrub that buffs with a bravura sense of charm and wit. RRP £3.49 for 200ml Sample I received is 75ml to find out more about Anatomicals and their products.

Olay Regenerist 3-Point treatment Cream fragrance Free- Olay Regenerist's award winning, best selling moisturiser. RRP £29.99 for 50ml. Sample I received is 7ml.

Visit for more information.

Skinetica Anti Blemish- A unique solution for clearing skin blemishes, showing results in 2-3 days. Kind to skin with no side effects. RRP £6.99 for 100ml. Sample I received is ???? There was no ml amount on the sample, I would guess it's between 7 and 10ml but I could be wrong. I'm not sure if there is enough in there to get 2-3 days use, so I'm not sure if I would be able to see the results but I'll give it a good go.

It says on the card to visit for this product but I think this may be a typo, so instead I would suggest going to for more info on these products.

Yves Rocher France Moisturising Cream Lipstick Couleurs Nature in Framboise- Perfect coverage from the first application: a smooth, supple luminous film covering the lips. RRP £14.50 for 3.7g. This was a full sized sample.

Isn't the colour of this gorgeous? Although it is a bit too bright for me. My face and red lipstick do not mix, which is a shame but hey ho. I didn't swatch this because I may give it to someone who can show it the love it deserves.

And finally.......
Dr.Jart Premium Beauty Balm- This Dr Jart+ BB cream provides high SPF40 protection with anti-oxidants. A slightly glossy, low coverage cream which helps fight ageing. Particularly suitable for those over 30. RRP £24 for 40ml. The sample I received is 15ml.

I have been loving BB creams lately, I have quite uneven skin tone and love how well they cover that up. When DR. Jart's BB cream first comes out of the tube it looks a little dark, but it spread evenly and blends well with my skin. I like that it is specifically for sensitive skin. However, 'suitable for those over 30', I think GlossyBox are trying to prematurely age me :D.

I couldn't creepily smell any of these products this month as my nose is feeling the Winter a little too much, but hopefully I can smell the Anatomicals grapfruit scrub soon.

I am back to being happy with my GlossyBox and think they are entitled to have 1 or 2 months every now and then where they don't live up to our expectations. I would have loved to have got the Sally Hansen nail Polish that some others got instead of the lipstick, just because it would have been something I would have got some use out of, but I'm not complaining.

Hope you are having a lush weekend.
