House of Fraser Blogger Style Challenge

I've seen these Blogger style challenge a few times and thought they might be fun to try. Then I saw this Blogger style challenge, with a chance to win £200 worth of House of Fraser vouchers and had to try it out.

To enter, all you have to do is;

Step 1: Head over to www.houseoffraser.co.uk and pick your favourite new season pieces.

Step 2: Put together your look and post it on your blog. Tell us what you love about the pieces you’ve picked and where you would wear them.

Step 3: Leave a comment below their blog with a link to your post so they can take a look.

Step 4: Check back to see if we choose you as our favourite!

The competition closes on Monday 10th September at 5pm so you have plenty of time.

I haven't been blogging for long and this is my first attempt at this kind of competition thingy, so please, be gentle with me.

I love window shopping, but I am far from professing to have any incredible fashion sense. I pretty much like to stick to simple trends. And so that is what I have done here.

My research (google) showed me that 'Military minded' was on trend for Fall 2012, and so I went for the simple yet chic military style trend (with a little biker chick mixed in).

To be honest, I only decided on that theme when I spotted these gorgeous DESIGUAL Larralde Pants and from that, I knew what type of shoes and jacket I wanted, so I went for the  Steve Madden Platform Court Stiletto shoes and this Oasis Leather jacket

By this point, I was halfway there, this is where I started to struggle a little bit. The top. I had in mind what kind of top I wanted to go for, and I was going to use this one, but it just didn't seem to meld the way I thought it would. So, I went in search of a simpler top with a twist, and that's when I found this Mary Portas Twist Neck & Tuck Top. Perfect. So I have the outfit sorted, now I just need to accessorise.

If you have seen my Favourite things post, you will have noticed that my taste in jewellery is somewhat....... quirky, and I wanted to use this side of the challenge to inject a bit more of my take into it. My afore mentioned research had also revealed that statement accessories were another item touted to be a big thing next season, so when I found this Thomas Sabo Skull ring, I knew it was part of my outfit. I adore this ring. It's big and chunky and sparkly.

I normally always have a necklace around my neck, but with the neckline of my selected top, I couldn't quite find a necklace that would blend well with the lines of my top, and so, decided to not have one for this outfit. Instead, I decided to go for this cute Guess wrap bracelet. Because it's a wrap bracelet, it could probably be unwrapped and worn as a choker style necklace, which along with the ring would bring the outfit slightly tilted more to the biker chick theme.

Now for my final accessory, one of my favourite things and an essential piece for any outfit. The bag. I didn't want the bag to take too much attention away from the rest of the outfit, so rather than go for a normal handbag, I decided on a clutch. In fact, it was this gorgeous, statement Lulu Guiness Lips clutch that i had to have in my outfit, and this completed the look absolutely perfectly. I would wear this look for day and night. OK, maybe not nightclub outings but casual drinks down the pub with friends definitely, maybe. :)

I would buy this outfit if I could afford it, but at a massive £1076.00 this is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of my price range. But a girl can dream right?

I had a lot of fun doing this challenge and even if i get nowhere near winning, it will go down as one of my blog firsts and a learning curve. I would love to see if any of you have entered and what outfits you chose to go for.

Hope you liked my attempt.

:)x
