Viva La Nails Black Friday 25% Discount Offer

First up, Happy Thanksgiving to any American lovelies that visit my site today.

Black Friday is a relatively new thing to us Brits, but we all love a good sale, right? So if you're not sure what Black Friday is, let me tell you.

Black Friday is the name given to the day after Thanksgiving in the US when loads of retailers, including online, do loads of fantastic discounts and deals and traditionally signifies the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.

Thankfully, for us 'across the pond' so to speak, loads of these deals are coming to our retailers too. woop woop. And one of these deals, which I gather you have guessed by now, is of course, Viva La Nails 25% off.

Viva La Nails are a nail art mega store, with very cheap prices in the first place (I have already tried some of their stickers and water decals which you can see here), so with 25% off, I expect you can grab a nice haul of goodies, maybe for yourself or a Christmas present/stocking filler for someone else.

So, head on over here to grab some stuff.

Use coupon code BLACK on the checkout page to get your 25% discount.

The code is valid from 23/11/2012 to 25/11/2012 and applies to ALL of their products.

What you waiting for? Get shopping. I'd love to see what treats you buy.

Fashion Vouchers Xmas Outfit Blogger Challenge

I was recently invited to take part in Fashion Vouchers Xmas outfit challenge and I have been using all remaining brain function to bring an outfit together.

There was so much choice in this challenge as you could choose from any of their affiliated fashion sites and build an outfit from the site you chose. I went through nearly every site and could only find partial outfits that I really liked. Then I re-checked Boohoo and that was a success.

When I think of the Christmas party season, I think LBD. Little black dresses are always in fashion and if you dress it up right, it can be the perfect party outfit. But of course, being Christmas, there has to be a little bit of bling somewhere.

Before I show you my outfit, here are the rules.

The store/merchant has to be an affiliate mentioned on Fashion Vouchers store page here (don't worry, there's plenty of them).

From your selected site, put together a killer party outfit for £100 or less. You can use discount codes from Fashion Vouchers provided the offer is live at the time of your post.

Write a blog post about your entry including links to and their competition page so others know how to enter.

And finally, email a link to your blog post to

3 lucky winners will win a prize of a £100 voucher for the retailer of their choice (no cash alternative).

Closing date is 17th December and winners will be announced 21st December.

Phew, now that's out of the way, here is my entry:

Jasmine Long Sleeve Lace Cutout Bodycon Dress £20

Emilee Black Studded Back Platform Shoe Boots £40

Caitlin Black Studded Box Clutch £20

Rachel Bow Knee High £6

Imogen Multi Hoop Drop Earrings £5

Una Hello Sailor Classic Nail Varnish £4

Droool, every piece of this outfit is going on my lust list. Altogether, my outfit came to £95, under budget, woop woop.

Of course I went for the LBD, I absolutely adore the lace shrug type neckline on this and thought it would pair perfectly with a nice chunky, high pair of studded heels and there they were. By this point, I'm in love with Boohoo. The bag had to match the shoes and this was the cutest, studded clutch on there so this was mine.

Obviously, by the time Christmas parties come around, you know its gonna be freezing, so these cute knee high bow socks would keep the majority of my legs warm and the little red bows add that pop of colour to the back, it doesn't hurt that they look super cute paired with the shoes.

Then accessories. the lace on this dress is such a nice focal point that I didn't want to overload it with jewellery, so I went for simple and chose some pretty silver earrings to tie in with the studs. Then, to add another extra little pop of colour, the gorgeous blue nail polish.

What do you think? Would you wear this outfit to your Christmas party? If you want to enter then head over to the competition page now- Fashion Vouchers competition.

Hope you're having a good week so far despite the rain.

NOTD: Halo 4 Nails

Polishes used: W7 Black, Rimmel 60 seconds Camoflauge, Rimmel I <3 lasting Finish  Green Grass, Barry M Gold Foil and Silver Foil, Barry M Denim and Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream.

Aaaaah Halo 4 has been released. This would have been a good day, had I not awoken to my Xbox missing from our bedroom, and Hubby engrossed in Halo 4 on MY Xbox in the front room. You see, Hubby is somewhat of a Sony fanboy, that is until an Xbox exclusive comes out that he really wants to play, and so, he steals my Xbox. And, against my wishes, I became a Halo widow. Sob.

How to fill my time? Halo nails. I spent all day doodling what I wanted to do on each nail and was pretty confident it would go well. Well, better than my Borderlands nails anyway.

And BOOM, epic-ness.

Now, I will be the first to admit that these are not perfect, they are flawed, but I love them and lets face it, sometimes, perfect can be boring.

My favourites are definitely my thumb and ring finger.

Spartan thumb- I used W7 Black as a base, Barry M Gold foil for the visor and Rimmel 60 seconds Camoflauge as the Helmet armour details.

This was quite easy because it was the first thing I knew for a fact I wanted to do and how I wanted to do it.

Halo Index finger- W7 black as a base and Barry M silver foil for the word. OMGosh I had no idea how difficult it could be to write neatly on a nail. I quite like how the O turned out.

4 ring finger- The 4 symbol, W7 black for the base, Barry M silver foil for the symbol and Barry M blueberry ice cream or the detailing/highlighting. Again, I'm really please with this one, it was quite difficult to get right but came out OK.

And lastly, the pinkie- because this was an Xbox exclusive, I had to get the symbol on there somewhere. TBH, this turned out pants, but only if you look closely and it was quite small on my pinkie so no one could really tell. This was Barry M Silver Foil base and Rimmel 60 Seconds Green Grass for the X.

You may have noticed that I don't have a single photo for my middle finger. This is because the design on the middle finger was a filler. I honestly had no idea what to do on there. Initially I tried to recreate the light shine on the game box cover, and that turned out shocking, looking nothing like it. So I did the simple gradient you can see in the whole hand photo. Blue and silver, that reminds me of Halo and it seemed to fit in pretty well.

I hope you like these, and, if you're a fan of the franchise, head on over to Gert Lush Gaming to see what they have to say about it and maybe let them know what you think of it or if you're still on the edge about buying it.

And don't forget- Spartans don't die, they just go Missing in Action.

No H8

I have been gone for a while, I have been quite poorly again, but because of this, I have missed quite a lot including all the Halloween mani's I could have done and what would have been my first Polish Days, which I'm gutted about. I also missed out on this No H8 campaign which went out yesterday, I'm still posting about it though as it is something I am really strongly against.

Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.
Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the Internet.

As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, colour, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair colour...even to our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.

In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colourful community.

I was bullied as a child because of where I was from (Ireland), because of my body shape and how my face looked, because of what I wore and because I was relatively smart. Unfortunately, kids can be very mean and this can often lead to childhood depression, self harm and in some extreme cases teenage suicide.

Me and hubs make it very clear to our 6 year old that bullying is something we will not tolerate and that you treat people how you expect to be treated, and if there is someone who is more vulnerable than he is, then that is someone he needs to look after. But, sadly, in the world we live in, these types of chats with children either don't always have an effect or some parents don't even bother or care about how their children treat others, then this can carry on with them through adulthood and sometimes even increase in their animosity towards people.

I didn't do a purple mani to go with this because I have done a pretty epic mani for what would have been my first post back (which will be up in the next few days) and I don't want to take it off. So I am posting a previous purple swatch of Rimmel Marshmallow Heaven. the pic is terrible as it was when my camera was not functioning but the colour is delicious.

Head over to Eradicate H8 to find out more about this. There are loads of bloggers already involved but i coouldnt find the inklinkz code to add to the post. Sorry, i'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to these things. But you can check out Nailed It and Polly Polish, they are 2 bloggers that I read daily, who are both involved and both have the inklinkz thingy on there so you can add your link into the mix.

Look out for my next NOTD post, its a good 'un.
