What's in my April GlossyBox (Designed by Pearl Lowe)?

I have been anticipating this box ever since GlossyBox announced that it was going to be a limited edition box. This months design is by singer/songwriter turned fashion designer Pearl Lowe and has a theme of Vintage Spring Fever.

I am absolutely in love with the peach floral design of the box. The design is all over so will be a great re-usable box to have on display along with my Maggi Li box.

Inside, the box has a white ribbon and the sticker looks very cute with the Pearl Lowe design on it.

The info sheet has stayed the same in the way it has been put together and also has the Pearl Lowe design on the front.

Inside the sheet is an interview with Pearl Lowe, and you can also check out the GlossyBox Blog for a video of Kate's day with Pearl Lowe here.

Aaaah so pretty, click the jump for more about the products in this months box.

Sunsense- Daily Face SPF: Sunsense Daily SPF 50+ is a light, soft cream, tinted for a sheer matte finish. this oil-free formula is ideal for all skin types, including combination and oily skin. As an added bonus, this powerful multi-tasker also helps protect against premature ageing from sun exposure.

RRP: £18.50 for 75g. I received 10g.

I'm not really sure about using this item, I've had bad experiences with tinted moisturisers before because I'm so pale. So I haven't opened it yet because there doesn't seem to be a lid. I might try this when I don't have to leave the house for a few days, just in case it goes wrong.

Yves Rocher France- So Elixir Purple Eau De Parfum: Building on Yves Rocher's So Elixir, launched in 2009, So Elixir Purple is described as an 'intoxicating and magnetic fragrance', and boasts a unique fusion of Tuberose, Vetiver and Patchouli culminating in a floral-woody elixir. Much like the evolution of the So Elixir fragrance itself, Purple is the perfect scent for the headstrong, passionate woman who embraces change and isn't afraid to reinvent herself.

RRP: £44 for 50ml. I received 5ml.

It's ok, don't panic, I'm happy with this addition to the box. In the past, I have whinged a bit about receiving perfume samples that you can get for free from magazines and beauty counters, but not this one. At 5ml it is double the size of the little samples you can get for free and this bottle is super cute. The perfume itself smells gorgeous, and even when sniffing straight from the bottle, it is not overly strong. It is also not a spray so it is likely to last longer as with the little dabber you can put it on just the hot zones for a subtle amount of scent.

Nip+Fab- Dry Skin Fix Body Butter in Mango Smoothie: Winter can be tough on your skin. now that Spring has finally arrived, it's time to treat your hands to an all-around recovery programme with Nip+Fab's ultra-rich Mini Mango Smoothie Body butter. This indulgent, whipped body butter repairs dry and dehydrated skin with the 24-hour moisture-boosting ingredient Aquaxyl, which has been shown to improve the skin's water reserves, instantly improving the appearance of your skin.

RRP: £9.95 for 200ml. I received 50ml.

Wowzers this smells amazing. Yes, this is a definite sniffer item. You know when you smell something, and you get that instant sensation of a memory from your childhood, which, you can picture in your head but can't quite remember what it is reminding you of? Yeah that. It's annoying because I hate when something is right on the tip of your tongue but you just can't verbalise it.

The cream itself is fab too (see what I did there?). It does take a little longer to settle nicely into the skin but left my hands feeling gorgeously soft. I applied this to test it last night before going to bed, and when I woke up, my hands felt great and the smell was still really strong.

This is the one slight disappointment I had about this item. When I opened it, it looked like someone had got there first and scooped about half the cream out before sealing it. Luckily, you don't need loads of this to spread it around so it should last for quite a while.

Essie Nail Lacquer- Cute As A Button: With Spring having officially sprung, it's time to break out the colours. Essie provided an infinite pallet of shades for high-quality professional looking manicures and we've handpicked 15 vibrant, eye popping, can't live without shades that will be sure to kick start your style transition into spring.

RRP: £7.99 for 13.5ml. I received 13.5ml.

Yay, another nail polish. Booooo, another pink. This is my first ever Essie product and I love the fact that this nail polish addition is a full sized rather than the mini Nails Inc polishes we have been getting. Even though this is pink, it is a very vibrant and bright colour, so I may have to use this at some point. From what I can find on t'interwebs, Cute as a Button is from Essie's 2009 Spring Collection but clearly this is a colour that will be quite popular for years to come. Although it states a £7.99 RRP for these polishes, you can pick up Essie Metallics from your local Original Factory Shop for £3 and a range of colours that are ever changing from Fragrance Direct for the bargain price of £1.99 each. It's a good idea to keep an eye on FD though, as colours available change often and sometimes will go out of stock really quickly.

I'd be interested to know what other colour polishes were received as I have only seen this pink, a lighter pink and a lilac colour but they have said that they chose 15 colours.

Sleek MakeUp: Blush In Pixie Pink- Leave Winter behind and break out those bright colours! Sleek MakeUp's highly pigmented blushers will be sure to brighten and define your cheekbones for a perfect springtime look. These silky-fine and long-lasting blushers are perfect for creating a subtle and radiant glow, complementing all skin tones.

RRP: £4.49 for 8g. I received 8g.

Everybody needs a good blush, right? As you can see, this blush is really pigmented and looks like an extremely bright pink but this does blend in well with the skin and does feel very smooth. It does not sit on top of the skin leaving a powdery effect like some blushes do. The packaging is really sturdy and perfect for handbag use and has a little mirror inside for application.

I do really like this months box, the products are great for this time of year and are all good quality items. I'm happy with the the 2 full sized products (Essie and Sleek) and I think I can get quite a lot of use out of these.

I have roughly worked out the value of this box @ £21.82, a little under double the price of the box if you include postage costs. That's a pretty good value.

Don't forget, if you want to sign up to GlossyBox UK, go here  for the different subscription options, you still have a chance to get this gorgeous limited edition box but they are limited and from what I hear, they are selling very fast, so chop chop.

What did you think of this months box and did you receive anything different in yours?

:)x
