Danglefoot Nail Polish School's Out Trio

I finally managed to claw together some motivation today, granted not much and it's a sleepy kind of motivation but it's motivation all the same and I managed to swatch these gorgeous polishes from Danglefoot Nail Polish.

4 weeks ago ish, I won a giveaway on Instagram for the Danglefoot School's Out Trio gift pack, I received it 3 weeks ago, yes, I know, I'm slack af. The prize pack consisted of Cedarwood and Lime cuticle oil, a sample of cuticle oil which smells just like Terry's Chocolate Orange, a Soaps for Suds little star soap, 3 polishes: Space Hopper Race, Hot Long Summer and Down the Arcade and a candy watch.

Obviously the candy watch and little soap were quickly claimed by Ki so I can't comment on those ones although he has assured me that the candy was delicious and that the soap smells really really nice.

The cuticle oils are amazing! I currently use the Danglefoot Sweet Pea and Apple cuticle oil and not only does it smell incredible but it works amazingly, it's the best cuticle oil I have tried and now I have a spare that also smells incredible and a sample of chocolatey orangey nummyness.

Lets have a look at the polishes now!

Batman NOTD for Batman Day

Motivation or not, you didn't think I would let Batman Day pass me by without having Batman nails did you? Ok, so I have pretty much done this design before with my Batgirl/Pink Batman nails but I'm being lazy and I wanted to use my TwinkledT Batman vinyls. (I can't find them on their website anymore, might have been a limited run) their vinyls are fantastic quality and worth trying, there are loads on there to choose from.

Polishes used: NYC Lexington Yellow
               Barry M Black

My Thumb and my ring finger are both vinyls (I did have to cut that oval out of the vinyl, which is why it's a bit raggedy but it didn't have an oval. For the utility belt I used SheSellsSeashells Straight stencils when applying the black, then I went over the empty space with Barry M white Nail Art pen, then added NYC Lexington Yellow and black lines using Barry M Black.

I still struggled to get those lines even, gah! it drives me insane but it looks great in real life.

Are you doing anything for Batman Day?

Enlighten me in your bath time enjoyment ways!

I have been feeling pretty unmotivated this week, not just in the blog but in life and it's hard to claw your way back from that when you body is knackered and your pretty much stuck in a sedentary lifestyle with stress everywhere and anywhere.

So I have been thinking about all the things that I used to give me a little pick up, before I got MS and most of them are things I can't do or can't enjoy anymore. The main one is baths.

There was nothing I loved more at the end of the day, than coming home and climbing into a nice, hot and bubbly bath. If it had been a crap day with lots of stress, it was almost like washing it all away and the heat and scents would relax my muscles and my mind. There was a time when the bath would be ready for me when I got home after a long shift, with some candles around the room and a nice glass of wine.

Of course, I can't drink anymore and bath time is one of the most difficult, painful and tiring parts of my day. Just preparing to bathe takes all of my spoons, I have to lay out my clothes ready, I have to set up a space where I can flop down and lie on the bed, then there is of course running the bath and getting undressed and by the time I get (helped) into the bath, I am already exhausted.

I can't have the scalding hot temperatures I used to have, in fact my bath water is often barely warm because of the Uthoff's phenomenon and even with the barely warm, that temperature rise is enough to set it off. Within 2 minutes of being in the bath, I start to lose feeling in my legs and my eyesight goes blurry, at 5 minutes most of my body is numb or has pins and needles, every movement is painful and even the water moving over my skin feels heavy and by 10 mins, the fatigue sets in along with the nausea and I physically struggle to stay awake.

I have a precise routine set out on how I wash to make sure the important parts gets washed and I have to rest in between each thing and if I haven't washed everything by the time I get to 10 mins, then it is highly unlikely that I will be able to do it without help and you can forget about doing any girly things like shaving my legs. Then at the end, I need to be lifted out of the bath, I don't dry, the towel gets wrapped around me and I plonk down onto my pre-prepared recovery area and it can take anywhere up to 45 mins to recover from this experience before I can eve consider moving or getting dressed.

It's not a great experience and if I was to have a bath in the morning, it is likely that I will not have enough energy to do anything for the rest of the day.

I want to change that though, or at least make it more mentally enjoyable and so I am asking you what you do to make you bath time more enjoyable, do you use specific fragrances or products, for instance, I have seen loads of posts and videos about Lush products lately and believe it or not I have never tried a bath bomb before but I really want to now, they look amazing.

Feel free to recommend products and I will look into trying them, I'm on a budget though so as nice as it would be to try a £100 bath creme or something along those lines, it's not gonna happen but please enlighten me in your ways of bath time enjoyment!

DangleFootNailPolish True of Heart and Cast a Spell

Today I am going to show you True of Heart and Cast a Spell from the Danglefoot Nail Polish Once Upon a Time collection.

It's taken me a while to get these swatches done, it seemed like everytime I put these on to swatch, the sun went bye bye, it knows, I swear it knows. You have already kind of seen True of Heart because I used it for my Aquaman nails but you need to see it swatch style...

... and this is why, it's absolutely gorgeous. It is a juicy, bright orange, jelly holo, that looks yummy in both shade and direct sunlight/artificial light. Look at that gorgeous rainbow!

The formula is perfect and pretty much what I would expect from the indie holo polishes these days. It took 3 thin coats to get it this opaque but you probably could get away with 2 as it is a jelly.

It dries to a smooth and shiny finish, although I did add one coat of Seche Vite.

True of Heart was a little stainy but that's to be expected from such a bright orange. Gah! it's so pretty!

This one is Cast a Spell, equally as pretty as True of Heart but much harder to capture. Cast a Spell is a gold/green toned yellow with a linear holo with a perfect formula.

It dries quickly and smoothly but not as shiny as True of Heart. It did however only take 2 coats to get it opaque and I then added a coat of Seche.

My camera really had difficulty picking up on the holo rainbow on this one, but believe me, it is there. The holo on this one shows more as golden and orange with a flash of blue than it does a full rainbow.

In the shade, it looks like a beautiful olive green rather than a yellow. No staining from this one but I can't guarantee that it won't stain if worn for a longer time, always wear a base coat!

Both polishes had a fantastic formula and dried really quickly and these polishes are going to be fantastic for wearing during the Autumn months.

The Danglefoot Nail Polish Etsy store is currently taking a little break but will be back soon so keep your eyes peeled.

It's still August right? No, crap, oh well, in fairness, the arcade block didn't arrive until September anyway so it's not that late. Lets jump straight in to this months items anyway.

BPS Review: 3D Multi Gem Embellishments

I'm not normally one for large or sticky out embellishments on my nails, I rub my face a lot because of the sensations I get and it never ends well with embellishments but lately I have seen some absolutely stunning mani's with the large multi gem embellishments and I decided to give it a go.

These gems are from Born Pretty Store, they are about 1cm in size and have 4 different faceted style gems on them. These are slightly different in colours to what is shown on the Born Pretty website, also I received 3 embellishments where as the item pages states 10 pieces. They are also currently out of stock.

My first issue in recreating pretty nail art, I had absolutely no idea how to place it. Most of the ones I had seen had all been placed at the top near the cuticles but I couldn't get it to look right. It did look pretty good in the middle so I went with that.

Also, with how extravagant looking the gem is, I wasn't sure if I should do a simple mani or have it all going on, but as you can see I went for a somewhat middle ground by using W7 Mosaic for a busy glittery look on 2 fingers and my thumb and then OPI Pearl Diver on the middle 2 fingers to mute it a bit.

The gem is pretty funky though. It took my a little while to get used to it, it's quite heavy compared to what I would normally have on my nails and you can definitely tell it was there, at it's highest point, it stands about 7mm off your nail, it might not sound like much but trust me it is. I was very wary of catching it and pulling it off because I had only stuck it on with a blog of Seche.

It would be great for special occasions, when you want your nails to match and equally fancy dressed up look but I would definitely recommend a little blob of nail glue just to make sure that sucker stays on. This is likely to be a multi user, it's sturdy and and with a little bit of a pry then a good clean up, you could definitely get away with using it a few more times.

If you would like to get some of the gems, you can find them here for £2.35/$3.61 and don't forget to use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off your order!

Infinity Crate: Unity

I really need to get a better title image for the Infinity Crates.

This month's Infinity Crate theme was Unity, although I'm not entirely sure how the items fit the theme, but lets jump straight in and have a look at what we got.
