Colour Shifty Mermaid

Have you ever loved a mani so much but hated it at the same time? In real life, this mani was incredibly pretty, with the colour shift from KBShimmer Pigment of my Imagination showing up constantly and being it's gorgeous self, and the mermaid is stamped using KBShimmer PT Young Thing so that holo'd away like a beauty but in photos, I just couldn't capture it and for the most part, it just falls flat. I very nearly didn't post it.

I managed to catch a few with a bit of colour shift but none with the holo :(

The base for this is also a KBShimmer, it is Stark Raven Mad which I really need to buy a new one of soon because this one is nearly finished. I used vinyls from Whats Up Nails to do the mermaid scales and the mermaid is from Bundle Monster BM-510 stamping plate. I might wear this again but stamp the mermaid in black then stamp over with PT Young thing, I think that might give it more of a holo pop.

What do you think of this mani? Would you wear it?

Soft Kitty Clothing Made My Squee Happy

About a year ago, I bought 3 pairs of leggings from AliExpress, they claimed to be in my size and I was really excited to get them Annoyingly, when they arrived, I couldn't even get them over my knees, colour me disappoint. It was a disaster and I still have 2 pairs of them in my wardrobe as a reminder, now thinking of turning them into workout tops.

For years now, I have only been able to wear leggings because of the pain a normal pair of trouser causes(man, I miss jeans), don't ask me why, MS is all of the fun, but I got annoyed with just plain black leggings, I'm a naturally colourful person o_0 I wanted awesome but affordable ones because I am also a naturally poor person. I discovered the pyjama leggings from Primark. Yes! I did wear them as normal day to day leggings but the material that they were made from just doesn't last long when you are wearing them often and you have a fat arse. Plus, they are very easy to shrink so it still wasn't a solution for me.

A few months ago I came across Soft Kitty Clothing on Instagram, they had awesome leggings so that was a good start, then I noticed in their bio that they were based in the UK, bonus, then when I went on their site, they had mermaid leggings in my exact UK size. Ok, so I was still skeptical, I'd gotten my hopes up before and been completely disappointed.

So I placed an order, I told my squee to stay in, there was no point getting excited when they were not likely to fit. My first order arrived about a week later, I bought just the green leggings and that adorable Harry Potter backpack because backpacks are my thing now. The 9 3/4 tag was from an old Loot Crate, I added it because together they are awesome.

First things first, I was sent a free gift for spending over £40, it's a cute love hearts skater dress and it was in my actual size, it fit fantastically and is perfect for this summer heat we have been having, and I love freebies so that was cool and it buttered me up pretty nicely.

I placed my second order for the purple and black leggings just a few weeks later because I was so happy with my first and again they arrived after about a week. I also bought a Pacman skater dress at the same time but I forgot to put it in this post,  it is amazing btw and fits perfectly too.

The leggings were pretty good quality, there were no imperfections and when I pulled them on, they went over my knees, step 1 SUCCESS. They really are my size, they fit perfectly, they are comfy and they look awesome. I am finally a mermaid.

The mermaid leggings were £14 each and these ones are size 18/20, they have a large range of leggings but sadly not all of them go up to that size, there are a few pairs that I have got my eye on if I ever get down to a size 16. The backpack is on sale for £26. They have a large range of other clothing items that are equally as awesome and are pretty reasonable prices so it's definitely worth a look as they are constantly adding new things. Fingers crossed they grow their plus size range in the near future. Hopefully in the future I will feel confident enough to model clothing that I buy, as part of my branching out to other things attempts, if any of you amazing fashion bloggers have any tips then I completely welcome them, not that I think any of you amazing fashion bloggers read my site but hopes, I have high hopes.

I highly recommend these leggings if you want to be a mermaid and, like me, have a fat arse.
Let me know if you buy anything from them and tell them I sent you if you do!

Summer Neon Gradient

I really enjoyed the gradient from last week and I wanted to try another one with the other end of the scale of Danglefoot neons, so from top to bottom I used Make an Entrance, Spike the Punch and Steal a Kiss. it turned out really bright and perfectly summery.

I started with a coat of OPI Nail Envy, then a coat of Barry M Cotton, before sponging on the Danglefoot neons, I topped with one coat of Seche and then I stamped the sunglasses from Cheeky CH37 stamping plate using Break the Rules and Ditch the Diet from the Danglefoot neons, which stamp really well btw.

I still think I need to work on my blending a little bit still but I am really happy with this mani and it may mean more gradients in the future but I am not guaranteeing it.

It did get me in more of a summery mood though, it does help to see these super bright colours on my nails.

Hope you all had an awesome start to the week.

Konad Deep Coffee Stamping Polish from Born Pretty Store

This Konad Deep Coffee stamping polish from Born Pretty Store is a welcome addition to my stamping polish collection. Over most polishes it looks like a dark, dark brown but, over a few lighter colour polishes and whilst stamping, you can see that it is a lovely purple toned brown.

I went for some simple nail art using it so that you could see the purple tones in certain lights. The polish is a great consistency, it stamped beautifully and did not streak when I added a coat of Seche.

Base polish is the gorgeous KBShimmer Run! It's the Coppers.

You can find this stamping polish here for £5.93/$8.44.

Born Pretty Store Flower Vinyls

Lorna from The Well Polished Blog has been doing some gorgeous gradients recently and many of them have been with the creme version of the Danglefoot Neons, so I decided to have a go at gradienting (definitely a word, just don't look it up). It's been a while since I last successfully gradiented (see previous brackets) so I started with the colours that would blend easily together for this review of Born Pretty Store Vinyls. From top to bottom, I used Steal a Kiss, Break the Rules and Ditch the Diet and I love the finished look. It's not a bad gradient if I do say so myself, go me for fun nail art.

The vinyls themselves are HOLO!!! This was the best photo I could get of the rainbow but it is very pretty. The actual vinyl is quite thin and I worried I was going to rip it just by taking it off the backing, I didn't though. They stuck very well to the nail and didn't leave behind any sticky residue when they were removed, which was also easy.

I did get a little bit of seepage under the vinyl in some places but I get that with about every vinyl I have tried and I suspect it is because my nails are pretty curved so the vinyl sits a bit funny. It's easily fixed though with a clean up brush and nail polish remover.

You get 9 full sized vinyls on the sheet and 3 nail tip vinyls. You can find them here for £0.70/$0.99 for the sheet.

Loot Gaming: Dungeon

The May Loot Gaming was a little late due to an item having to be replaced last minute. The item, which we still know nothing about, started 'bleeding' out of the boxes. From what I could tell on the Loot Gaming Twitter feed, they aren't releasing any details about it because they are hoping to bring it back in a later crate, minus all the 'bleeding' I'm assuming but I'm so intrigued and there are a number of things I have imagined it is, my main thought is that it is one of those squeezy, gross stress ball thingies and it was maybe Cacodemon from DOOM.

Anyway, moving on to the items we did get, this month's theme was Dungeon! Inspired by the release of Uncharted 4 and DOOM, Dungeon is a venture into long forgotten places. We were hoping for some really cool items and in my opinion, they delivered.

Born Pretty Store Splodgy Water Decals

I called these Born Pretty Store decals 'splodgy' because I wasn't really sure what to call them, they look microscopic to me or like a photo negative strip melting but I also see doughnuts, that could just be because I'm hungry. They do make for some funky acid trip nail art though.

The decal sheet consists of enough pre-sized decals to do one mani (10 decals). I'm not a huge fan of the pre-sized decals because I often find it difficult to get them to fit all my nails properly, however, they are pretty good quality and that might just outweigh the fact that a smidge of nail on each side is not covered.

The decal slid off the backing paper easily and within about 10 seconds of being in the water, they clung to the nail nicely without too much sliding around. There was no colour loss and the colour is vibrant enough to not need any undies, I applied them straight to a the nail that only had Nail Envy on. I topped with one coat of Seche and the didn't wrinkle or split or melt.

You can find them here for £1.09/$1.55 for the sheet.

Loot Pets:Power Inspired Nails

Remember the wrapping paper inside the May Loot Pets? I thought it was cute and I thought that it would make some goo nail art. So I did that! I'm trying to ease myself back into proper freehand nail art and I thought this was a good one to start me off, especially since I would like to get back to doing my monthly Loot Crate inspired nails again.

The beautiful Barry M Malibu was the perfect colour for this, then I used Yellow Konad for the chicken drumsticks with Barry Mustard for the shading and spots and NYC Lexington Yellow for the lightning bolts. I topped with one coat of Seche and one coat of Barry M Matte Topcoat.

The way my thumb turned out was my favourite, it just looked dinky and cute and the most like the paper.

Thanks for sticking by me and fingers crossed for some freehand nerdy nail art soon. Hope you are having an awesome Monday.

Danglefoot Nail Polish Live Colourfully Collection

This collection is the Live Colourfully Collection from Danglefoot Nail Polish and is made up of these beautiful neon holo flakies. Ok, so this isn't technically the whole collection, the blue is missing, this is because when I bought this grab bag from Hayley and she knew I was going to be buying this collection, she let me know that Geek Out was actually an oopsie of Dress to Impress, the blue from this collection and so very similar to it, so I decided not to buy that one in the end.

I normally buy minis when I buy Danglies so that they all match but Hayley's collections have been selling out so quickly lately that I had to buy a full size in Ditch the Diet (purple) to make sure I got all the ones I wanted.

Cherry on Top with Born Pretty Embellishments

Cherry nails always make me think 50's pin up! I knew exactly what nails I wanted to when I saw the cherry embellishments, however, when I planned it, I honestly thought I had a cherry stamp but noooope, I'm remembering non existent things again, so I ended up having to freehand the cherries, I think they turned out ok though.

The embellishments are from Born Pretty Store and are pretty well made, with the base a silver colour, the leaves are an enamel green and the cherries are faceted rhinestones. You get a whopping 20 in a pack and if you just smoosh it into the topcoat like I do, then most of the time they will be re-usable.

It was pretty easy to get situated on my nail and stuck well in the topcoat but being a larger embellishment, it did catch on things.

Weird hand pose ftw!

Polishes used: Ciate Red Hot Chilli and Barry M Cotton. Top coat: Danglefoot Nail Polish quick dry topcoat prototype.

I love that this nail art has such a retro feel to it and I actually used a proper brush to do the cherries rather that a dotting tool, and it didn't go horribly wrong, I was very impressed with myself.

You can find these embellishments here for £3.44/$4.90 for the pack of 20.

KBShimmer Pigment of my Imagination

I knew this polish was gorgeous but I didn't know how perfect it was until I had it on my nails. This is KBShimmer Pigment of my Imagination, a multi-chrome that shifts from purple to blue to pink to red to gold to who knows how many other colours. Most of the time I see a gorgeous purple and blue combination but in the right light, *mouth drop* all the colours come out.

I found that it worked best with one coat over black, it's quite sheer, so if you don't use black undies then it will take quite a few coats to get the best results. I then topped with one coat of a Danglefoot Nail Polish prototype quick dry top coat, which is fantastic, so shiny!

I may have taken a fair few photos but I just wanted to make sure I caught as much of the shift as possible.

Pigment of my Imagination has a little bit of subtle sparkle but if you prefer to have holo in everything then I would recommend KBShimmer Myth You Lots which has a similar shift to Pigment of My Imagination but also has a linear holo. It's on my wishlist too.

This is my favourite shift photo, where you can see nearly every colour of the shift.

For Americans, this polish is available from KBShimmer for $9.25usd and for us internationals, it is available on Harlow&Co for $12.50cad (about £6.86 at the moment). Myth You Lots (the one with the linear holo) is also available from both places for the same prices. Which one are you going to get?
