Born Pretty Store Dreamcatcher Owl Water Decals

Quite a late post tonight, my back has been giving me proper jip today so everything is being done in slow motion, I feel like Flash from Zootopia. A good tip for those with a bad back, it's really hard to derp with one, you just end up hurting it even more, so you have to try you hardest to reduce nerdisms and weirdisms that involve physical movements.

Anyway, these water decals are from Born Pretty Store and I love the colours in them, they are very dreamland which is so perfect for the dreamcatcher theme.

As you can see above, these are the decals that are pre-sized and I do think that these still need to be a tad wider, my nails aren't that wide and yet I struggle to cover most of my thumb nail and my middle nail. The length is ok, the decals just managed to fit on most of my nails, if my nails were any longer though I would have had gaps.

These are fantastic for some quick, colourful nail art with no undies needed. They slide easily off the backing after about 10 seconds in the water, they were easy to place and manoeuvre and even though I was being a little rough with a few of them, they did not rip. I did get a few folds in places because my nail is so curved but these were hardly noticeable after the topcoat was applied. I used one coat of Seche which did not seem to melt any of the decals and they kept their colour throughout the whole process.

The owl decal is so pretty.

You can find these decals here for £0.70/$0.99 for the sheet shown above and don't forget when shopping on bornprettystore.com to use code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Are you all ready for the Christmas rush to begin? I'm so excited, I love Christmas, I wonder if we get any snow this year!

Danglefoot Nail Polish Achey Breaky Heart

Here is another absolutely stunning polish from Danglefoot Nail Polish that I have just not done justice to. This beauty is Achey Breaky Heart, a purple jelly with pink/gold flakies and bronze micro flakes and it's from the upcoming Country Music Collection when Hayley reopens, which fingers crossed, will be soon. Hayley very kindly sent me this as an extra in my Whovian Indie Box because I was a dumbass and selected the wrong postage and paid too much, only a few quid, so it was very nice of her to send me a full polish.

The formula is fantastic as always, it applies nicely and dries to a semi matte, smooth finish, with the odd flakie poking up to say 'hi'. It's a very vibrant colour and you could probably get away with one thick coat on this one but I would recommend two thin coats. Photos show two coats with one coat of Seche.

Clean up is easy, with removal being a little bit tougher because of the flakies. For the accent nail, I stamped using Bundle Monster BM-H01, Moyou White Knight and Models Own Cerise.

How much money have you mentally spent with all the new polishes Hayley has been showing? There is a few I'm hoping to grab but I know full well it's going to be a complete bum-rush so I'm going to have back ups on my list, just in case.

Espionage Cosmetics and Loot Crate Mad Moxxi Nail Wraps

These Espionage Cosmetics Mad Moxxi nail wraps were from the Loot4Fangirls Loot Crate, yes, I know, that was bloody ages ago but I was saving these for a time when I knew I wouldn't be doing my nails for a while, so I could fully test them on wear. So when I got the signs that I would be hermiting away for a while, I finally gave them a go.

Application was fairly easy and I only had to cut down a couple of wraps to fit my nail, so the sizing of them is pretty spot on for me.My nails are pretty long at the moment and there was a lot of excess so those with long nails can get in on the action too.

I applied one coat of Seche once I was sure it was mostly all stuck, then as the Seche was drying, I used a dotting tool to push down and little bits around the edges that had popped up. Just to be safe, I used another coat of Seche on top.

These also glow in the dark and to my surprise, they are really bright. This isn't my best glow in the dark photo ever, you can barely see what it is but at least you can see it's bright.

These wraps lasted me 5 days during hermit time! 5 Days! That's like a new record for me. On the fifth day, the cuticle end did start to snag on my hair but I think that was more the Seche, so if you want to extend wear time, you could go round the top with a brush dipped in polish remover and then add a new coat of topcoat.

Removal was easy, you just push something up under one edge and peel off. The peeling was quite tough and their adhesive is pretty sturdy stuff, so I honestly worried that it was going to damage my nail, but there was no damage at all. I wiped my nail over with a bit of polish remover to get rid of any residue and bosh, done!

I've never been amazing with nail wraps, my fingers are too derpy, my nails are too curved and it takes me ages to do it. I've had a few occasions where it went really well and I definitely think the quality of the wraps have something to do with , I am starting to really like them. I mean, it's a great way to get some awesome nail art without the extra effort and I imagine that the more you use them, the better you get at applying them.

I am so glad that my experience with these wraps went well, because, and this is kind of an announcement and I am very excited about it, I am now a Nerd Makeup Ambassador for Espionage Cosmetics!!!

How friggin awesome is that? When I was contacted about it, all my squee literally fell out and I've been so excited ever since. All their products are awesomely nerdy and I have been lusting after them for so long. This is the most exciting thing to happen in so long, I'm probably going to survive on this squee high for a while. So keep an eye out for lots of nail wraps in the future.

I also have these awesome discounts to offer you, to share the love with you my beautiful weirdos. You can use NMA15KAPOW to get 15% off orders over $25 or you can get $3 off any new Nexus or BOOM!Box subscription by using code BBKAPOWNX. Please read the conditions for the codes and click the codes to be taken over to the right place.

They ship to loads of places but please do factor into your budget the customs charges for your country. For the UK, you will be charged customs on any purchase over £15 and at the moment, with how crap the exchange rate is, it's very easy to hit that amount.

What nerdy wraps are you looking forward to seeing on here? which ones are you planning on buying?

Whovian UK Indie Box

Arrrrrgggghhh, do you ever get that thing, where you remember doing something, like you actually have memories of completing it and then you find out some time later that it never happened and you still haven't done it? Just me, ok! Well, that's what happened with the Whovian Indie Box. I honestly remembered putting it on the blog before I hermitted away for a week and a half with pain, only to realise when I went to get back to doing stuff, that it absolutely never happened. So I am finally getting it up on the blog today. It's photo heavy so I hope you're ready.

Stick to Stigu Planner 2017

I first got to know Stigu around this time last year when I was lucky enough to be sent the 2016 planner and if anything worked hard to keep me organised and sane this year, it was that planner. Well, I was lucky enough again to be sent the 2017 Stigu planner and I am so happy that I will have Stigu by my side again next year.

The basic structure of the planner is the same as last year, with a ring bound thick 'paperback' about the size of a Gen 1 Ipad, one double page per week on thick pages, packed full of health and wellness tips and the little tear off corners on each page to help you keep track of and easily jump to, the week that you are on.

Madam Glam Disco Night Gel Polish

I've seen Madam Glam polishes popping up on everyone's account lately and they all look great, so when Andreea contacted me and asked if I would like a $15 store credit to try out one or more of their polishes, of course I said yes! Unfortunately, when it came to the checkout stage, I realised that their normal nail polish doesn't ship outside of U.S. and Canada, but gel polish does. It seemed a bit weird to me but I was still eager to give them a go, so, I decided to get one gel from their range and it could be my first foray into the gel polish world.

What I didn't realise was how much was needed to do gels, so while this arrived a little while ago, I then had to purchase (and wait for) gel basecoat, gel topcoat and rubbing alcohol (all purchased elsewhere with my own pennies)! I know you also need a UV light but being that I wasn't sure about how this was going to go, I opted out of buying one and opted in to using my UV torch, no matter how tedious, so that I wasn't wasting too much money.

Disco Night is a dusty pink glow in the dark. When I tried 2 coats on a swatch stick it was opaque and so that, mixed with the fact that I wasn't really keen on soaking it off led me to use a peel off base coat which has glitter in it. As you can tell, 2 coats later and the sparkle still showed through. It applied as a very delicate colour which would have looked great over white or silver.

I honestly think I was applying it wrong because, if you look at my thumb, I had applied 3 coats and the bottom 3 quarters of the nail has a bolder colour, whereas the top quarter does not. I 'cured' each coat for 2 mins, because I read somewhere online that that was the right amount of time and the polish seemed hard afterwards so I just assumed it was right.

In the dark, the polish was absolutely phenomenal, with a beautiful and strong, bright green.

So what I have gleamed from this experience is that Madam Glam have indeed got some gorgeous, fantastic quality gel polishes but also that gel is definitely not the thing for me, it takes too long, there are too many stages and too many things that can and, in my case, do go wrong. I also experienced a bit of pain under my nails whilst curing and I never found out why it was doing it.

I might try it again some time and now that I have the topcoat I am tempted to try the chrome powder, because it looks awesome.

I hope they open up shipping to the UK for their standard polishes in the future, I'd love to give some of them a go.

Loot Crate: Horror

This month, Loot Crate's theme was 'Horror'! I don't think they have ever done a horror crate around Halloween before, they tend to steer away from it, so it was a fun and unexpected theme.

The pin badge is cool but not one of my favourites. I wish they had stuck with the same style of pin that they normally do and did it with this image, that would have been more awesome. Let's jump in and check out the other items in this month's crate.
