Oh Christmas trees, Oh Christmas trees...

What could make better nails than silver holo and some extra sparkly holo glitter. Only 4 days left until Christmas Day and I cannot wait, mainly for the food, obviously.

The plate I used for this mani is the Beauty Big Bang 12 stamping plate. This plate has 6 full size images, some good for regular stamping, some for double stamping and some for reverse stamping.

The plate is etched nicely, with no imperfections and the images pick up very well.

You can find this stamping plate as part of the 5 piece stamping plate set here for £7.47/$9.99 or on its own here for £1.49/$1.99 and don't forget to use my code PLUS10 for 10% off your order.

Espionage Cosmetics Classic Sonic the Hedgehog GITD Nail Wraps

Espionage Cosmetics Sonic the Hedgehog gamer nerdy nail wraps

As promised, here are the other set of the amazing Sonic the Hedgehog nail wraps from Espionage Cosmetics. This is a completely new angle for my hand and I'm not sure it works for me but I just had to show these the right way up. As I said before, both ends of the new 22's are curved and so I could have done it from the other end but then I wouldn't have got these cute Sonics by my cuticles.

These beauties have glitter on the rings that is very sparkly but not only that...

Espionage Cosmetics Sonic the Hedgehog gamer nerdy nail wraps glow in the dark

... but they glow in the dark, and the glow on these is so strong straight out of the packet. This was without even turning my UV torch on. As soon as I turned out the lights, I was nearly blinded by them.

Any gamer will love these, and d'ya know what you're going to love more than the wraps? The fact that they are currently 50% off which brings them down to only $6!!! All licensed wraps are in this sale, plus if you're spending $25 or over and you have gone through my link which you'll be able to click through in a moment, then you'll get 15% off your order total!

So pop over here to grab these wraps and don't forget to check out the sale on licensed wraps.

More Christmas nails coming up soon!

Wrapping Paper Nails

Who's excited now?! Only 10 days until Christmas. We have seen snow but it has not settled nor has it lasted very long but I am still hopeful. Have you finished all your prep?

These wrapping paper nails are just what I need now as I am currently in the 'pretty much everything needs to still be wrapped' stage. They have been done using the Beauty Big Bang 13 stamping plate from the Christmas 5 piece stamping plate set.

The plate has 3 large images and 9 small images, most of which are great for reverse stamping. The pick up was great and there were no imperfections.

You can find this plate here for £1.49/$1.99 or you can buy the entire 5 piece set for £7.50/$9.99 and don't forget to use my code PLUS10 for 10% off your order.

Other items used in this mani: Barry M Black Diamond, Barry M Cotton and Barry M Silver Foil.

Espionage Cosmetics Sonic, Knuckles and Tails Nail Wraps

Espionage Cosmetics Sonic, Knuckles and Tails gamer nerdy nail wraps

How perfect are these Sonic the Hedgehog wraps from Espionage Cosmetics. When I was younger Sonic on the Mega Drive was my most played game, and at one point was the only game I played, so these have been seriously on my lust list since the day they were announced and this is only 1 of 2 awesome, fully licensed Sonic sets that they do and I plan to wear the second lot next weekend, so look out for them.

In the mean time, if you can't wait to get your speedy little fingers on them, pop over to the shop and checkout before Dr. Robotnik tries to take over the nail art world, don't forget if you haven't gone through my referral link or used my code before, you can get 15% off an order over $25!

SnowGlobe, So Good Christmas Nails

Gah! The snow didn't arrive here today like it was supposed to but I cheered myself up with these pretties.

I did these using the Beauty Big Bang 11 stamping plate from their Christmas plate bundle. I double stamped the ugly jumper style pattern and then reverse stamped the angel in the snowglobe.

The plate is etched well and picks up really well, there are no imperfections either. There are 4 full size nail images on the plate and 6 smaller images perfect for reverse stamping.

Other items used: Born Pretty Store H006 Holo Polish, Barry M Cotton, Barry M Dead Heat and Moyou Black Knight.

You can find the 5 piece set here for £7.46/$9.99 or the plate on it's own here for £1.78/$2.39 and don't forget to use my code PLUS10 for 10% off your order.

Textured Snowflake Half-Moon

So, my laptop is being a bit of a dick, you'll probably have seen me say about this many-a-time if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, and it's the truth, it's being a proper dick. I'm having so much trouble with it and my failing brain doesn't help the matter, like buying the wrong SSD for it and only realising after voiding the warranty. But because of the laptop's dickishness, I haven't been able to post as much as I want to, so I have now reinstalled a few things so I can post a bit until I can get the right SSD and hopefully have a functioning laptop.

While I haven't been able to post I have been getting myself into the Christmas spirit, (not that I need much help doing so) by doing a few Christmas mani's. The first one I did were these textured snowflake half-moon's and I pretty much adore them.

Barry M Lady is one of my favourite seasonal polishes, a beautiful, textured white. It's perfect in my eyes, apart from the fact that they don't sell it anymore and I can't find anyone that does and mine is basically empty now *wah* I know that OPI Solitaire is a fairly similar polish and so I might just buy a bottle of that to tide me over.

I stamped using Moyou Black Knight and the Uberchic Christmas 01 plate. No topcoat.

Kylo tries: goodies

Last week very kindly sent Kylo some Grain Free Dog Food and some Natural Dog Treats to try. Kylo was super excited, not that you can tell from this photo. We have established during this process that she doesn't like packets to touch her, it does not go well, so we did our best. Obviously we couldn't try everything straight away so Kylo was not happy, the looks she gave me that day were immense. And for some reason, I decided to take some photos portrait and some landscape so enjoy :D

Kylo: Diary of a Toy Killer- B&M Festive Faces Reindeer Squeaker

We missed another Sunday last week because of laptop issues and it feels like I am having to catch up with my destruction. I have gone through loads of tennis balls this week but you don't want to know about those, so here is my latest!

Wild Bangarang GAMER Bangarang Box

Wild Bangarang is one of my favourite brands, I don't own many pairs of their leggings, but I do love them so, so much. They are amazing quality, with a print that doesn't stretch and fade, even on my ample behind, so they are definitely worth the slightly higher price tag than what I would normally pay. My first pair (The Sylvanas 'Legion' Leggings) was a present from Jim for my birthday this year and since then I have managed to acquire the Horde leggings, and then this pair makes my third.

The Bangarang Box is a monthly thing that they do where they put kind of a pre-order up for one weekend, with limited units and it will contain one pair of leggings and one tee under a theme. The October theme was 'GAMER' and once I saw that I was in!

The photos in this post are a bit rubbish. I did plan to have proper photos of me wearing them but I've been in a lot of pain lately so am not very mobile and I'm having one of those 'fat days' that has lasted about a week now, just typical human stuff, man are we fragile! Anyway, I took a load of photos, promptly deleted them all and was left with these.

Widowmaker Here!

I have had this beauty sat on my desk for quite a while now and while I have worn it a few times, I haven't actually posted it on the blog because I couldn't quite get it right. I had tried looks very similar to this but with different colours for the nail art but they didn't show up very well in any of the photo's I took. This time, I tested a few different colours and then decided white was perfect.

Zoya Elphie

I am mildly obsessed with Zoya Pixie Dusts, well, as obsessed as my bank account lets me be, which is a lot less than I would like but here we are. As far as textured polishes go, most of the Pixie Dusts are pretty perfect and the other week, as it is coming up to Christmas (yes! I said the 'C' word) I wanted a sparkly, green, textured polish. I popped over to Nail Polish Direct, having never realised before that they sell Zoya's but then to also notice that they were (at the time) having a sale on them and I grabbed Elphie and one other, which you'll see on the blog soon.

Elphie is a gorgeous, emerald green with a green sparkle and is from the 2016 Enchanted Holiday Collection from what I can find. It has a great formula and applied beautifully, it was perfect in 2 coats. It dries quickly and on the first coat it an take a little while for the texture to be prominent but it does fix itself eventually. It has fantastic wear and got a lot of compliments.

As with all and any textured polishes, when it finally comes time to take them off it is definitely tough, you get a good workout from it but if you wear textured polishes often then you know what you are getting yourself in for, plus the removal doesn't negate the fact that this polish is all the pretty!

Nail Polish Direct have pretty much got their Pixie Dust side of things covered if you fancy any and there are pretty well priced, there are a few I have my eye on still. How do you feel about textured polishes?

We're close to the middle of the week, we can do it, I know it's one of those weird weeks but you got this!

Loot Crate: Mythical

The October Loot Crate theme was Mythical and was taking a look across the planes and exploring beyond what science can explain, creatures beyond imagination, items from some of my favourite franchises. So I was pretty happy with this month's crate, let's see what you think!

Espionage Cosmetics Steampunk

Remember, remember the fifth of November...

Ok, so these nails aren't very fireworky but Saturday's seem to have become my Espionage Cosmetics day, and these awesome and glittery Steampunk wraps were in my pile of goodness.

These wraps are glossy and have loads of glitter accents including one super glittery accent wrap. Steampunk fascinates me but I don't actually own anything Steampunky apart from little metal slices of cogs, so i stuck one to my finger, it's kind of a coll look, right?!

These aren't currently in stock but there are 2 newer versions, just pop over here to check them out! Also, for a limited time only, Espionage Cosmetics have opened up the sale of subscriber only wraps, so if you were eyeing up one (or more) of the sets that were only available to Nexus or BOOM!Box subscribers, then now's your chance!

Hope you all have an awesome firework night, if you're in the UK and Saturday if you are elsewhere, but be safe. I'll be curled up with a very nervous furbaby, it has already started.

Geek Fuel October 2017

This month's Geek Fuel magazine was a really cool, 3D, Walking Dead cover and it came with some 3D glasses that look like the old View Master, so you could look at it. It had some cool stuff in it with some art work in the inside cover of a milk carton with missing Barb on it. And the back inside cover was also 3D. It's a fab idea. It's started off good, let's see if they kept it going.

Espionage Cosmetics Killer Nail Wraps

Are you all up in the Halloween Hype? My son is away on a school trip so I have done absolutely nothing for it except buy a bag of chocolates for any trick or treaters that may wander off this way. I might dress Kylo up as a Ghostbuster again though because that's always adorable and because Jim wouldn't let me buy the massive spider costume for her.

Kylo: Diary of a Toy Killer- Loot Crate Ninja

This is a little bit different to the previous Toy Killer entries, because this toy is currently winning! I know, crazy right, but there we go. Loot Pets did good on this one, which to be honest, is not one that I expected to beat her, but here we are.

Espionage Cosmetics Clive Barker

'Welcome to the worst nightmare of all...reality.'

I have been saving these and another pair of wraps to wear around Halloween because they are perfect for this time of the year, especially for fans of the book. They are glossy nail wraps but I added one coat of Barry M Matte topcoat because look how amazing they are mattified and I wanted the page nails to look like actual book pages.

Plus, they glow in the dark, with my thumb saying 'Help me' and my ring finger saying 'I'm in hell'.

The best thing is that these are currently in stock on the Espionage Cosmetics website, so pop over to get your nightmare started and just search Clive Barker.

Have you got your Halloween costume sorted yet?

Born Pretty Store Purple Shifty Stamping Polish

Ok, so I didn't post yesterday, what I did do was spend most of the day playing Uncharted 4. I'm just really feeling it right now, thanks to Uncharted The Lost Legacy, which I really loved, I really hope they bring us more of Chloe and Nadine in the future. When I went back to finish Uncharted 4 though, I found that my save was gone, from both the console and Plus cloud, which is weird, but I decided to play through it again and I am really enjoying it. I kind of love Nathan Drake hard though, hahaha.

Anyway, I actually managed to do stuff today and I tried out this pretty stamping polish from Born Pretty Store.

Using the Uberchic Halloween 03 plate again, I tried to put together a cute Halloween mani here but I'm not sure purple cats over a sparkly base counts as Halloween nail art, but I like it all the same.

The polish is pretty much perfect though. It is highly pigmented and picks up super well. It went from stamper to nail flawlessly and it dried really quickly. Plus, it didn't streak when I added Seche and I went over a few bits a couple of times just to test it. Oh, and when you have added topcoat over the stamping, you see the metallic, shiftiness of it, which is a lovely pink shimmer.

Because it is highly pigmented, make sure you remove it straight from any plates, scrapers and mats straight away to stop the possibility of any staining and always wear a good base coat.

You can find this stamping polish here for £2.29/$2.99, this one is number 31 but there are 24 other colours there to choose from. Don't forget that you can use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

The sparkly polish underneath is Danglefoot Nail Polish The A List which was from the Hollywood UK Indie Box, isn't it a beauty?!

I want to see your Halloween nails, leave your blog link in the comments.

The best £104 that ever was spent!

This post isn't an ad or a sponsored post, it's just me, pretty much gushing about a product that I would hate to live without.

Back at the beginning of 2007, Jim bought me these just because (we were on good money back then). You see, I had tried straighteners before because my hair was a massive bushy mess and none of them had really lived up to their slogans and my hair was never straight or never stayed straight for long. But then there was a thing at work and one of my colleagues offered to do my hair and she had these straighteners that were absolutely incredible! They were the GHD IV's and I was amazed that my hair could look so good and then I spent weeks looking at them online and sighing loudly because I really couldn't justify something so extravagant. £104 was a lot of money to spend on just me! But then Jim forced my hand and bought them for me, some GHD IV's of my very own.

And now they are nearly 11 years old! I have never had an electric item last so long before, not even a fridge or washing machine, although my tv is still kind of working but it has broken down a few times and these have not stopped working even once. I use them often too, not only that but I have dropped them, a lot, and I have thrown them across the room because of a particularly violent twitch. They have survived 4 house moves and I even melted a part of the cable into a permanent bend (Don't worry, no cables are exposed and that was about 6 years ago so they are pretty safe, I hope)

I know I am blatantly jinxing myself and the moment I post this they will break but honestly, they are about £80 online now and I could definitely justify buying them purely because I know they last so long and I used them a lot. If anyone asked me to recommend straighteners, these would be them. and not just because they last for ages but because they work so bloody well. I can't vouch for how well any other model of GHD's work but these, these are the ones you need in your life, especially if, like me,  your hair is a monster that needs to be tamed.

Gushing over, normal posts will resume tomorrow!

Born Pretty Store Chameleon Powder #5

Ok, let's start this week off strong and begin with some pretty chameleon powder from Born Pretty Store with a little touch of Halloween.

This powder comes in a screw lid pot and 1g of powder in it, which is plenty and you can get a good few manis out of it. You also get a double ended sponge applicator with it although you can use your finger or the rubber end of a cuticle pusher or a normal make-up sponge to apply it.

It applied nicely, even with my terrible application skills, although I did need to do a double pass of application to make sure I had full coverage. I do love the transformation you get from glittery powder to a smooth chameleon finish.

Of course I had to add a little bit of nail art just because I haven't really been doing any lately. This was done using the Uberchic Halloween 03 stamping plate and Colors By Llarowe Sparkling Diamonds stamping polish.

You can grab this powder here for £0.99/£1.29 a pot, there are 6 other colour variations and gold and silver holo powders. Oh and don't forget that you can use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.
