Born Pretty Store BP-126 Zombie Stamping Plate

I'm feeling like such a bad blogger lately, I had seriously tried to post as much as possible but this weather (I think) has got me on my knees and I feel kind of like my brain is short circuiting, you know what I mean? And it's kind of hard to concentrate on nails when your eyes don't work properly but I'm trying, I really am!

So today I have pulled myself together a little bit and done this fun Pop Art style zombie mani using Born Pretty Store BP-126.

This plate has 9 zombie heads that you can stamp straight onto the nail or you can do reverse stamping for some fun and colourful but nerdy nail art. And you definitely have a range of zombie faces here from just turned to skin and bones!

The images are perfectly etched and they picked up cleanly and crisp on most types of stamper.

Polishes used for this mani are Barry M On Your Marks, Barry M Dragonfruit, Barry M Damson, Barry M Spring Green and Barry M Turbo Charged for the base colours. Barry M Earl Grey from the Frosted Cupkcakes range is perfect for zombie skin and then I used Barry M Mushroom, Barry M Mango and Barry M On Your Marks for the hair.

You can find this plate here for £1.12/$1.59 and don't forget that you can use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Born Pretty Store BP-125 Dinosaurs!

Urgh! It's so muggy today and just won't rain, even though it blatantly wants to! But luckily it's cool enough for me to get some nail art done and today I have these fun dinosaur nails to show you.

This cute dinosaur plate is BP-125 from Born Pretty Store. It's the standard round plate and has 10 images on it. One is a full nail style image in the middle of the plate, with 9 other 'smaller' images. I put quotation marks around smaller because they're all pretty much the same size and I found that the 'smaller' images were too wide to fit the whole image on my nails and get the look how I wanted it.

Other than that the images picked up fab on all stampers and look crisp. They are also perfect for reverse stamping or stamping decals which is what I did here.

Here is a better shot of my perfect little T-Rex on my thumb, this is the nail I was the happiest with.

For the base I did a gradient of Barry M Need for Speed, Barry M Damson and Barry M Greenberry.

You can find this plate here for £1.12/$1.59 and don't forget to use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Born Pretty Store Large Flakies

We need the pretty on our nails when the sun is out and one of those pretty things are these eye catching flakies. These flakies are from Born Pretty Store and are slightly larger in size than these flakies I tried before but they still make for some stunning nail art and have lots of depth to them depending on how much you layer them. These also have a green to blue to purple to pink shift.

They come in a little pot and come with a sponge applicator and even though the weight is only 0.2g, you get a lot in there. These look fantastic applied sparsely or with full coverage. They lay flat and don't curl up with fast dry topcoat and can be worn with standard nail polish and gel. They are fairly topcoat thirsty, I am wearing two coats in the photo but it honestly could have done with a third.

I did originally try these over a light colour, kind of trying to stray from my usual 'flakies over black' thign that I do, but honestly, it did not look right. It may have been my execution of it but I would recommend using these over dark colours to get the desired look.

You can find these here for £1.82/$2.59, this is colour #4 and there are 4 other colour versions available. Don't forget to use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Born Pretty Store Icy Castle from the Metal Series

Nyaaaaaaaaah! TOO HOT! This heatwave seems to be happening in quite a few places around the world, what temperature is it where you are? I am way too hot to get any motivation to do nail art, but luckily I was sent this polish from Born Pretty Store. This is Icy Castle from their Metal Series and is a gorgeous icy blue.

The formula is like pretty much all metallic polishes and applies streaky on the first coat and if you go over a bit that you've already done, then it drags the polish off again and leaves a big, nasty streak, but it does all even out on the second coat and brush marks are minimal by the time the polish dries. In these photos I am wearing three coats with no topcoat, except on the thumb. On the thumb I added one coat of Seche and the polish underneath seemed to shrivel up and wrinkle. You can see that it looks like I have massive ridges on my nail, which I don't. I think this was just because it was a quick dry topcoat.

The polish does also have a chrome look to it. I wish it had photographed better because although not anywhere near as good as chrome powder, as a polish trying to mimic the chrome effect, they have actually done a pretty good job.

Icy Castle dried quickly and to a smooth, semi matte finish.

You can find this polish here for £2.52/$3.59, it is a 9ml bottle and there are 4 other pretty colours available. Plus, don't forget to use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Stay hydrated and use sunscreen people!

Born Pretty Store Ocean Water Decals

These water decals from Born Pretty Store are super cute and perfect nail art for the summer and best of all, even though the decals are pre-sized, they are much wider and longer than previous sets of decals I have tried from Born Pretty in the past.

You can see here a comparison of these and an older pre-sized set and straight away you can see that the new ones are all the same size, and are bigger than the thumb designated decal on the older set. My nails are pretty long right now and I even had a lot of excess on each nail so I would be happy to say that the majority of people will have their nails covered by these larger sizes.

The decals slid off the backing easily after only about 10 seconds in the water, they aren't too thick and did not fold over themselves and they adhered to the nail nicely. They didn't lose any of the colour and didn't melt away once I had added the Seche.

You can find these decals here for £0.70/$0.99, that's for 2 different sets of decals and don't forget to use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Born Pretty Store Stamping Guides

I had hoped for this post to go up earlier in the week but also be more substantial than it is, but the heat is playing havoc with me and I really had trouble using this, which is annoying because I had seen so many awesome manis out there using these or similar and I was really excited to use them.

These are from Born Pretty Store and just in case you don't know what these are, you place them down over the stamping plate after you have scraped and pick an image up through the cutout then stamp. There are 4 different ones with lots of different shapes and sizes.

For my first nail art I decided to try a lacy ruffian sort of look. I used 3 different sizes of the oval shapes on G001 and BP-L030 stamping plate. The base is Born Pretty Store Shine in the Dark (a beautiful, strong holo) and I stamped using Barry M Silver Foil.

For my second nail art I did a kind of clockwork mani using the flames and the semi circle cutout from G004, the square stripes from G003 and the heart from G002 and Bundle Monster BM-609 plate. The base is Barry M Black Forest and I stamped using Born Pretty Gold Stamping Polish.

Here's a shot of my thumb because I think it's kind of cute.

My clear stamper worked with the guides, as did my really sticky squidgy stamper so I think most stampers will work with these and I was really slow in doing getting everything moved into place to get the stamping done so I don't think you have to be super speedy with them. They are made from a thin sheet of metal, so I highly recommend not scraping them along your nail like I did *shudder*

I did find that some of the images were too thin in spots for me to get a full pick up some of the stamp, so you didn't quite get the shape. I think G001 is definitely my favourite of the guides.

You can get these here for £2.80/$3.99 per guide and don't forget that you can use code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

If you like the look of them, then I recommend popping over to Instagram and checking out all the awesome manis that other nailies have done.

Hope the heat is not treating you too bad!

Espionage Cosmetics DEAD INSIDE Wraps

Ok, so that title photo didn't quite turn out the way I had wanted it to, I had grand plans, grand plans I tells ya! The only upside to this is that if you zoom in on the nail it stays in focus, which I do have to give props to my camera for!

I do love to have a bit of fun with the Espionage Cosmetics nails wraps and I don't think I could keep this up for all my nail posts though. This post is a spoiler for the May BOOM!Box so if you don't want to see what's in there, don't open, dead inside!

Born Pretty Store BPL-67 Stamping Plate

I really like this stamping plate and I think that I really like it because it is pretty far from what I would normally do, I don't do flowers, but I really, really like this.

This plate is BPL-67 from Born Pretty Store. It has 10 full size images, 12 smaller images and one xl image. About 97% of the plate is perfect for reverse stamping which is how I did this nail art.

The images picked up super clean and crisp.

I used a base of Barry M Prickly Pear then I used Barry M Cotton, Barry M Sugar Apple, Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream and Barry M On Your Marks for the flowers. I even used Cotton, Sugar Apple, Prickly Pear and Strawberry Ice Cream for a smoosh on my thumb. Then I topped everything with Barry M Matte Topcoat. Yeah, it was a bit of a Barry M Party here but these colours are so pretty.

Anyway, you can find BPL-67 here for £1.68/$2.39 it's currently on sale so pop over and get a bargain. Don't forget to use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Stay awesome!

Born Pretty Store Chameleon Flakie Glitter

Ooooh, I do love a bit of glitter and when it turns out looking like this it's even better. This glitter is from Born Pretty Store and this result is without using any gel products, just Barry M Black Forest and Seche.

Espionage Cosmetics BOOM!Box May 2017: Battle of the Badlands

I was quite lucky this month to be sent the May BOOM!Box from Espionage Cosmetics. It's the first one I have ever received and it's pretty freakin awesome. If you're a nerd who also loves nail art and the thrill of getting a box full of awesome goodies, then this is definitely the box for you. But let me show you what was in the May box so you know, you know?!

I'm so fab I poop rainbows!

I've been meaning to put this up all week but here we are, it's Thursday already and even though I planned to be super productive this week, I have done nothing! I blame it on the heat and the fact that it is half term but really it's probably just because I am being lazy!

But here it is. I POOP RAINBOWS!!!

The base for this is the beauty that is Barry M Holographic Lights and I used the Uberchic Unicorn Love plate for the stamping/reverse stamping plus various polishes from my desk for the reverse stamping.

Chubby unicorns are also one of my new favourite because all us chubby unicorns need love too. Plus, the adorable is everything.

You may have noticed that I actually manipulated a rainbow to make it so the unicorn is actually pooping a rainbow, because you all need a visual of the rainbow poopage that I saw in my head for this mani. But please, rest assured that no unicorns, or rainbows, we harmed during the making of this mani.

I have some fun stuff to show you on the blog in the next week or so, as long as my laziness holds off so bare with me and thank you for hanging around.
