Star Trek Nails using the Polished By Leanne Out of this World Collection

I might have a bit of an obsession with these nails, I'm even considering doing something similar on my toes and I never do nail art on my toes. All polishes from the Polished By Leanne Out of this World collection have been used for this nail art, I knew instantly that I wanted to do a space/galaxy mani because it was a space themed collection but I never thought I would love it this much.

The base is The Unknown, then I dabbed on some Barry M Cotton across the nails and using Boys Are From Mars, Neptune and Milky Way I created the galaxies. Then using this fun Star Trek stamping plate from AliExpress I stamped the Enterprise on to my pinkie (which you annoyingly can't see very well in any photo I took), the Science Division badge on my index and 'Star Trek' text on my thumb.

This mani is super sparkly in real life, the photos just don't do it justice and Neptune really stands out, I think it's probably my prettiest galaxy mani to date and the flakies really help it out!

Don't forget that the Polished By Leanne Out of this World collection launches during the Facebook Event happening on August 9th starting from 6pm gmt! Do you know which ones you want yet? Lets see your favourite galaxy manis!

Infinite Vitality from the Born Pretty Store Mermaid Series

This beautiful polish is Infinite Vitality from the Born Pretty Store Mermaid Series and what else was I going to do on it if not scales? Because of the gorgeous colour I wanted to do a goldfish style nail art so I stamped mermaid/fish scales on using Barry M Mango and hēhē 005, then I added this kind of prehistoric looking fish from the Messy Mansion MM21 and using Moyou Black Knight.

The polish applies beautifully and has a fantastic formula, it dries quickly and to a gorgeous smooth and glossy finish. It's a bright, bright orange with a gold/yellow shimmer. There was no staining on my skin or nails and it removed easily. I got a good few days of wear on this before I had any tip wear and had loads of compliments.

If you fancy getting this polish or any of the others, you can find it here for £3.06/$3.99 and it is colour option 002.

Don't forget that you can use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items, just pop it in at checkout.

Hope you're all having an awesome Monday!

Espionage Cosmetics Orion Nebula Nail Wraps

Hey everybody! It's a rainy day here today, it kind of came out of nowhere but I prefer days like this to hot days so I'm not actually complaining, well, except about the washing it creates. Also, my son finished his final day in Primary School today! I know they say that they grow up fast but this is much faster than I thought fast was. Ok, Ok, Don't Panic Chrissie, breathe, it's ok, still like 5 more years until he's classed as an adult! Gah, not helping! Any one else going through this today? To brighten up this day a little bit, here are the pretty nail wraps I have been wearing this week.

Loot for Her: Alter Ego

June's Loot for Her arrived super late, as seems to be the norm these days, and of course it was spoilered for me before it arrived. Honestly though, when I saw the photos of it I thought it was just a normal cinch bag and it looked fun but meh just a cinch bag, but I am actually pretty impressed with it.

Loot Pets: Alter Ego

As I said in my Alter Ego Loot Crate post, Loot Pets is the one that I have been disappointed in the most over the last few months. At the end of 2016 they seemed to be improving and I was really happy with some of the crates but this year the amount of items in the Loot Pets crates has fallen and the quality of some of the items is pretty low. I currently feel like I am wasting my money each month on this crate and the only reasons that I am still paying for it is the excitement I see on Kylo's face each month when the box arrives and when playing with the new toys, and I still have a little bit of hope that they will get good again.

I feel like Loot Crate are spreading themselves too thin with all the other crate types and all the limited edition stuff and because of this, some of the crates are suffering.

This crate is definitely one that I am hugely disappointed in, so let me show you why.

Geek Fuel June 2017

Geek Fuel have really been standing out from the crowd lately for me. They have found a really awesome way of doing their pin badges and they are getting some really fantastic items each month and I find myself looking forward to seeing what's in here the most each month.

Technically this is now Jim's sub because Kian has chosen to have credit for his phone over the sub and Jim wasn't really impressed with Loot Gaming anymore but Geek Fuel caught his eye these last few months. However, if there is something I like then I tend to get it. Plus, the t-shirts are in my size because he doesn't want anymore, although if you were to hear him whinge every month that he loves the design you'd think otherwise.

Anyway, the June box was pretty impressive, let's have a look why.

Loot Crate: Alter Ego

I haven't posted a Loot Crate on here in a few months, mainly because I have been really disappointed and disheartened with them as a collective and I don't really like being negative on the blog, if I am not happy with something then I tend not to post about it. We already cancelled Loot Gaming because it wasn't quite meeting our expectations and I am so, so close to cancelling Loot Pets because that is the one I have been disappointed in the most but I'll explain more in the Loot Pets post coming up in a few days. Each month I am having to contact them regarding something missing from the Loot Crate core, most of the time it is the Secret Order of the Keys items and most of the time I have to contact them multiple times to actually get the items, one of which I am still waiting on. This month the missing item was the pin. The other thing we have the problem with is that they are all arriving with us super late, late to the point where we think it has gone missing in transit and by the time they do turn up we have seen spoilers so it kind of defeats the purpose of a mystery box.

Deadpool Nails 2.0

Marvel Deadpool nerdy nails

So back in 2014 I did my first Deadpool nails that were inspired by some socks from Loot Crate but why do just one Deadpool mani?! These Deadpool 2.0 nails have happened because I had bought Creative Shop stamping plate 46 aaaaaaaaaagggeeessss ago and had only so far used it to do a really terrible Walking Dead mani on my friend and my Darth Vader mani for this years May the 4th, that Deadpool image was just staring back at me, beckoning me, because look how freakin' awesome it is!

So I used Moyou Black Knight for the stamping, Barry M Turbo Charged for all the red bits, Barry M Cotton for the white and I used the Uberchic Unicorn Love plate for the cute little unicorn. For the black bits on my index and pinkie (they're supposed to be reppin' parts of his suit) I used the Barry M Black nail art pen. I topped it all with one coat of Seche.

The stamping plate picks up awesome and the image is just perfect, I'm so annoyed that my nails are short and I couldn't fit more of him on there. I can't wait for the sequel, Ryan Reynolds absolutely nailed it. Which movies are you looking forward? And which ones are you paying homage to on your nails?

Espionage Cosmetics Nevermore Wraps

These stunning wraps are Nevermore, they were in the April NEXUS from Espionage Cosmetics. I swear I posted these a few weeks ago but as I just found them in my drafts folder, I clearly had my action cancelled by someone out there. I swear I am the only person I know that can forget what they're doing, when they are doing it.

So back to the wraps, they are perfect for fans of Edgar Allan Poe and his fantastic poem The Raven (one of my favourite poems ever!). With an almost ethereal background and bold, black ravens, feathers and branches, these wraps really stand out and I got loads of compliments when I was wearing them.

They applied superbly, I'm getting better I think, I am still over filing the wraps at the open end of the nails so I end up with almost instant tip wear but I'm definitely getting there. I didn't do any fun photos for these wraps because it was too hot to faff and honestly, I couldn't come up with a fun idea for these ones. Do you think the heat has melted my brain?

FYI, these also look cool with a purple tint from you hair dye over them.

These aren't currently available to buy unless you are a NEXUS subscriber but if you fancy signing up to NEXUS so you get awesome nail wraps each month then pop here and use code BBKAPOWNX for $3 off your first month of any new subscription! (code can be used once per customer)

Have an awesome weekend!

BeautyBigBang Silver Chrome Polish

Here it is! This is the silver chrome polish from BeautyBigBang. Whenever there are chrome polishes, the best way to judge them is always the silver I think. If they can do a silver chrome properly then they've hit the mark and this polish hits the mark. So far I've swatched the green and the pink from this collection and I've been pretty impressed to be honest with you.

Again it's not true chrome but you can see reflections in it and it is shiny and metallic.

Like the others, it comes with the base coat 'activator' and you can't wear normal topcoat like Seche with it but could possibly prolong the life of it with a gel topcoat. This is two coats with no topcoat. While the base coat takes a good 10-15 minutes to dry the polish itself takes on 2-3 minutes to be completely dry and as soon as it starts drying, the chrome effect is visible.

You can find the silver chrome polish here for £5.39/$6.99 and don't forget that you can use code PLUS10 for 10% off your order, just pop in the code at checkout.

BeautyBigBang Pink Chrome Polish

Today I have the second of the three metallic polishes that BeautyBigBang sent me. This is the pink one and I'm not sure which I like better, the green one or this one. Like the green polish, this one came with the base coat activator and doesn't become chrome unless it has been applied over the base coat.

The base coat is the same and you have to wait a full 10-15 mins for it to completely dry otherwise you will not get the effect but as long as you do, once the pink polish has dried it is pretty near to chrome.

Photos show two coats with no topcoat. You can't use normal top coat like Seche because the chrome will disappear but you can do this if you are looking for a standard metallic mani. I expect it is like the powders and you can use gel topcoat to keep your nails looking good for longer.

You can find the Pink metallic/chrome polish here for £3.86/$4.99 and you can use code PLUS10 to get 10% off your order, just pop it in at checkout.

What have you got on your nails at the moment? Something summery to go with the heatwave? Maybe something nerdy? How about some holo? Sound off in the comments!

BeautyBigBang Green Chrome Polish

When BeautyBigBang asked if I would like to try some of their chrome polishes I was like 'Yes pleeeeeaaassseee' They all look really pretty and I always have hype space for pretty metallics. This is Green Metallic, the first of three polishes that I was sent and it's a bit of a beaut. Look at that gorgeous colour.

In terms of it being a chrome, it is, sort of. It comes with a base polish which is kind of an activator for the chrome, without it it's pretty much just a standard metallic polish. The base polish takes about 10-15 minutes to dry, which is quite a long time to wait but you have to have it completely dry before you apply the chrome polish but once you apply it, it transforms. The polish dries really quick and although there are serious brush strokes when you apply it, they all but disappear by the time it is dry.

I applied two coats with no topcoat. Sadly, the moment Seche touches it, it completely loses the effect, but although I haven't tried it, I expect it would hold up pretty well with a gel topcoat. Topcoat would be needed if you wanted it to last longer than a day.

Ok, so lets be real, it's not true chrome like what is/has been achieved with some of the glitters and powders out there but it's pretty darn close.

You can find the Green Metallic Chrome polish here for £5.41/$6.99 and you can use my code PLUS10 to get 10% off your order.

Keep an eye out for the other two chrome polishes in the next few days.
