Espionage Cosmetics Killer Nail Wraps

Are you all up in the Halloween Hype? My son is away on a school trip so I have done absolutely nothing for it except buy a bag of chocolates for any trick or treaters that may wander off this way. I might dress Kylo up as a Ghostbuster again though because that's always adorable and because Jim wouldn't let me buy the massive spider costume for her.

Kylo: Diary of a Toy Killer- Loot Crate Ninja

This is a little bit different to the previous Toy Killer entries, because this toy is currently winning! I know, crazy right, but there we go. Loot Pets did good on this one, which to be honest, is not one that I expected to beat her, but here we are.

Espionage Cosmetics Clive Barker

'Welcome to the worst nightmare of all...reality.'

I have been saving these and another pair of wraps to wear around Halloween because they are perfect for this time of the year, especially for fans of the book. They are glossy nail wraps but I added one coat of Barry M Matte topcoat because look how amazing they are mattified and I wanted the page nails to look like actual book pages.

Plus, they glow in the dark, with my thumb saying 'Help me' and my ring finger saying 'I'm in hell'.

The best thing is that these are currently in stock on the Espionage Cosmetics website, so pop over to get your nightmare started and just search Clive Barker.

Have you got your Halloween costume sorted yet?

Born Pretty Store Purple Shifty Stamping Polish

Ok, so I didn't post yesterday, what I did do was spend most of the day playing Uncharted 4. I'm just really feeling it right now, thanks to Uncharted The Lost Legacy, which I really loved, I really hope they bring us more of Chloe and Nadine in the future. When I went back to finish Uncharted 4 though, I found that my save was gone, from both the console and Plus cloud, which is weird, but I decided to play through it again and I am really enjoying it. I kind of love Nathan Drake hard though, hahaha.

Anyway, I actually managed to do stuff today and I tried out this pretty stamping polish from Born Pretty Store.

Using the Uberchic Halloween 03 plate again, I tried to put together a cute Halloween mani here but I'm not sure purple cats over a sparkly base counts as Halloween nail art, but I like it all the same.

The polish is pretty much perfect though. It is highly pigmented and picks up super well. It went from stamper to nail flawlessly and it dried really quickly. Plus, it didn't streak when I added Seche and I went over a few bits a couple of times just to test it. Oh, and when you have added topcoat over the stamping, you see the metallic, shiftiness of it, which is a lovely pink shimmer.

Because it is highly pigmented, make sure you remove it straight from any plates, scrapers and mats straight away to stop the possibility of any staining and always wear a good base coat.

You can find this stamping polish here for £2.29/$2.99, this one is number 31 but there are 24 other colours there to choose from. Don't forget that you can use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

The sparkly polish underneath is Danglefoot Nail Polish The A List which was from the Hollywood UK Indie Box, isn't it a beauty?!

I want to see your Halloween nails, leave your blog link in the comments.

The best £104 that ever was spent!

This post isn't an ad or a sponsored post, it's just me, pretty much gushing about a product that I would hate to live without.

Back at the beginning of 2007, Jim bought me these just because (we were on good money back then). You see, I had tried straighteners before because my hair was a massive bushy mess and none of them had really lived up to their slogans and my hair was never straight or never stayed straight for long. But then there was a thing at work and one of my colleagues offered to do my hair and she had these straighteners that were absolutely incredible! They were the GHD IV's and I was amazed that my hair could look so good and then I spent weeks looking at them online and sighing loudly because I really couldn't justify something so extravagant. £104 was a lot of money to spend on just me! But then Jim forced my hand and bought them for me, some GHD IV's of my very own.

And now they are nearly 11 years old! I have never had an electric item last so long before, not even a fridge or washing machine, although my tv is still kind of working but it has broken down a few times and these have not stopped working even once. I use them often too, not only that but I have dropped them, a lot, and I have thrown them across the room because of a particularly violent twitch. They have survived 4 house moves and I even melted a part of the cable into a permanent bend (Don't worry, no cables are exposed and that was about 6 years ago so they are pretty safe, I hope)

I know I am blatantly jinxing myself and the moment I post this they will break but honestly, they are about £80 online now and I could definitely justify buying them purely because I know they last so long and I used them a lot. If anyone asked me to recommend straighteners, these would be them. and not just because they last for ages but because they work so bloody well. I can't vouch for how well any other model of GHD's work but these, these are the ones you need in your life, especially if, like me,  your hair is a monster that needs to be tamed.

Gushing over, normal posts will resume tomorrow!

Born Pretty Store Chameleon Powder #5

Ok, let's start this week off strong and begin with some pretty chameleon powder from Born Pretty Store with a little touch of Halloween.

This powder comes in a screw lid pot and 1g of powder in it, which is plenty and you can get a good few manis out of it. You also get a double ended sponge applicator with it although you can use your finger or the rubber end of a cuticle pusher or a normal make-up sponge to apply it.

It applied nicely, even with my terrible application skills, although I did need to do a double pass of application to make sure I had full coverage. I do love the transformation you get from glittery powder to a smooth chameleon finish.

Of course I had to add a little bit of nail art just because I haven't really been doing any lately. This was done using the Uberchic Halloween 03 stamping plate and Colors By Llarowe Sparkling Diamonds stamping polish.

You can grab this powder here for £0.99/£1.29 a pot, there are 6 other colour variations and gold and silver holo powders. Oh and don't forget that you can use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Espionage Cosmetics Manga Nail Wraps

So this week didn't go quite to plan with my blog stuff, on Sunday my laptop started the Windows Creators Update and continued in a horrible loop of downloading and installing until Wednesday when it finally completed that afternoon, then on Thursday I had a wisdom tooth removed, it was not a routine extraction and once the anaesthetic had worn off I wanted to do nothing but sleep, it also triggered my Trigeminal Neuralgia, so myeh! FYI, touching your mouth stitches with the tip of your tongue may cause lots of wretching! *shudders*

Anyway, Could these wraps be any prettier? I love the 'Senpai noticed me' one so much and they all have glittery accents. These are the Manga nail wraps from Espionage Cosmetics, they are glossy and they're in stock!!! Go get them quick, pop over here to the shop and type Manga in the search.

Hope you are having an awesome Saturday.

Peeking Pumpkins With Born pretty Store Flakies Gel

Ok, we're going to put this one down as a fail, mostly. I received this flakie gel from Born Pretty Store, and I had originally thought it was just loose flakies (because I didn't read it properly) and I have never used gel from a pot before so I kind of panicked and had no idea what nail art I could do with it. Then I tested it on a swatch stick and not only did I realise that it wasn't too difficult but it sparked an idea. It showed up mostly as shifty orange and obviously being October, my instant thought was pumpkins. Plus, I had just bought the awesome Uberchic Halloween 03 plate which had a cool pumpkin stamp on it.

And this is what I ended up with. The main problem is that you can barely see that they are pumpkins. If you had no idea what it is, you would just mumble niceties and move on. But I kind of actually like it. Maybe it's because I know what i was going for and I can sort of see it and the flakies are still really pretty.

The gel was easy to use, spread well on the nail and had great flakie dispersal. I had it under the lamp for a 60 seconds then topped with a gel topcoat. Then I added a coat of Barry M Matte topcoat.

I can't really comment on removal of it because I use a peel off base coat when I am using gel.

If you fancy grabbing these pretty gels then pop over here to get them for £2.29/$2.99 a pot, they come in 8 different, shifty variations. And don't forget that you can use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Born pretty Store Rounded Clean Up Brush

I am trying to blog as much as possible at the moment, so today I have this brush from Born Pretty Store to show. During the reviewing stage of this, I realised just how difficult it is to take photos of a brush when you are doing stuff with said brush but also trying to control the camera.

But anyway, moving on to the actual review, the brush comes in it's own little tube to keep it safe and clean, which is great because otherwise, if you're like me, it just sits on your desk getting piles of crap on it until you next need to use it. So the tube can 1) help you find it a bit easier and 2) help it not get crushed or ruined by all your crap.

The brush feels like really good quality to me, and I don't have a vast knowledge of brushes but this reminds me of the Mitty brushes, the handle feels very similar and the bristles feel very soft but firm enough to do a multitude of jobs, from clean up, to actual nail art, to gel nail stuffs.

Normally I don't stray from the angled clean up brushes so I did wonder how a rounded brush would get into all the spaces but it did really well and I got good clean up from it. Plus, it didn't hold too much of the polish remover and didn't splay when being used.

I also tested this as a gel brush to scoop some gel out of a pot and spread it onto the nail, and it worked really well for this, it didn't hold too much of the product and stayed structured when spreading the gel on the nail, it was really easy to control.

As long as you use this only with non acetone remover and clean it in warm, soapy water regularly, this could be a staple tool in your nail routine.

If you fancy grabbing yourself one of these, pop over here to grab it for £1.22/$1.59, this brush is the #1 brush which is the smallest of the collection. And don't forget that you can use my code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Kylo: Diary of a Toy Killer- Poundland Tennis Ball

So this is a new series that I am trying out for size. I have been trying to think of ways to not only get different styles of posts on my blog but also to get more posts involving Kylo on here and what better way to do that than to post about what she does best, destroys toys!

So we're starting off with a basic one- the Poundland tennis ball. These tennis balls are not as sturdy or durable as normal tennis balls, I mean, we're paying a pound for a pack of 3, so you couldn't expect the best of the best in tennis balls. I swear though, there isn't many a toy that she doesn't manage to destroy within the first few hours of having it, is your dog the same?

Oh and please ignore how battered my garden looks!

Space Inflakers

I have been wanting to do these nails for ages but I ran out of my favourite green polish, Barry M Spring Green. It's a gorgeous shade and they do not sell it anymore. Seriously, I checked everywhere and could not find it. So I tried to find a match, online, and you know how hard that can be. The best I could find was OPI Front Lawn (this is it) and it's not a perfect match but it's about right for what I had in mind. I hope Barry M bring it back. I don't have any other greens like it in my collection.

Loot Crate: Robotic

The September Loot Crate theme is ROBOTIC, where we get acquainted with the androids and automatons throughout the ages and the known universe.

Let's have a look and see what you think, I honestly don't think it's a bad lot this month.
