Roses and Glitter

So today's notd is sort of another Valentine's one. Of course, I don't normally celebrate Valentine's Day but I am really feeling all the reds and pinks at the moment and what girl wouldn't be at least kind of chuffed if she received roses (maybe even the chocolate kind) and holo glitter as a gift? I really wanted something on my nails stamped over glitter and the first thing that came to mind was this roses stamp from the Born Pretty Store BP-73 stamping plate.

The base is Barry M Speedy Hot Rod and the glitter is Barry M Diamond, one of my favourite glitters ever, it's so sparkly and pretty, even in low light. I used Barry M Cotton for the white rose stamping.

For my accent nail I used the gorgeous Danglefoot Nail Polish The A-List and I stamped over it using Moyou Black Knight and an image from Messy Mansion MM24. Now I have no idea what the writing says but it looked pretty and so it worked for my mani.

I've been wearing this for a few days now and I even fixed one of the nails that I chipped last night, which is not like me at all when it comes to red nails but the whole mani is so pretty.

Do you have any plans for Valentine's Day?

Kylo: Diary of a Toy Killer- Loot Crate Iron Man Toy

Yes, we are finally back for more Diary of a Toy Killer entries. We were hoping to show you the carcass of a £10.99 Waitrose Pet Corner teddy that Kylo got for Christmas, but someone (ahem, Jim) threw it in the bin and we weren't aware, but let me tell you this, it did not last long at all. In fact, it was one of the quickest destructions I have ever seen. But lets get on with this toy.

We have had this toy before but we got this is one of the last Loot Pets, it has ended now, forever :( so we have kept a box to trick Kylo into thinking it is arriving and we will put our own bought stuff in it.

Espionage Cosmetics 'Nobody Calls Me Chicken' Wraps

Espionage Cosmetics Nobody Calls me Chicken Back to the Future nerdy nails

Where we're going, we don't need roads! Because, well, we have hover boards!? Ok, so I'm not great at punchlines and things, but to quote Espionage Cosmetics packaging, 'these wraps are Marty McFly'.

You may know this already but I have done some hover board nails in the past because I am a big fan of the BTTF trilogy (yes, all of them) and I love the colours of the hover board. It's so 80's it hurts. I love the addition of the green glitter wraps, they add an extra edge to it. I would love to see hover board nails/wraps but with a glitter base. Ooh, maybe for next BTTF day.

Tatty Teddy Nails

I realised the other day that it's been a while since I have done my own nail art not centred on review products or nail wraps and tbh, I've had very little creative motivation, it's almost like writers block but with nail art. So I sat down with loads of my stamping plates, some nail art stuff and a notebook, and I tried to come up with some designs. It was tough, but I managed to come up with a few that I like. These Tatty Teddy nails are the first design of that effort.

I love having furry nails but I do love a unique finish on the nail and I tend to feel it or rub it a lot. The last furry nails I did were Chewbacca nails a good few years ago and I absolutely loved them so I went on the hunt for my flock. Here's how I did it.

I applied one coat of Barry M Grey Matter, then I used Danglefoot Nail Polish Night Unfurls it's Splendour to paint on some patches and I lined them with Barry M Black Forest. I topped it with one coat of Seche Vite, then One coat of Barry M Matte topcoat. Then I applied a coat of Poundland Clear polish to stick the flock to (remembering to avoid the patches) then I quickly went crazy with flock application, patted it down once it was covered, then brushed off the excess with a fan brush.

For the Teddy nail I used one of the large stamping plates I bought from AliExpress and made a little decal. I stamped some hearts over Barry M Cotton, then applied my decal and topped it with one coat of Seche and one coat of Barry M Matte topcoat.

The flock is from a multipack that I bought from Born Pretty Store ages ago and I had a massive pack of fimo canes that I bought years and years ago so I sliced of this little heart and added it to my nail with a little bit of topcoat.

These look so cute irl. Plus, technically they are my first Valentines nails of 2018. What do you think of the flock look? Is it something you would wear?

Have an awesome weekend

Espionage Cosmetics Pizza in Space Wraps

I don't know about you, but when I think of pizza in any other context than eating it, I immediately think of the Ninja Turtles, not that thinking of the Ninja Turtles is bad, I'm cool with it and I think Donnie was too. Plus this pizza is in space and the Turtles have been to space. Coincidence? I think not! So me and Donnie are off on a mission but before that, let me show you these pretties.

Beauty Big Bang Christmas Stamping Plate 15

Today I am finally getting round to showing you the final plate from the Beauty Big Bang Christmas stamping plates. This plate is a prime example of a plate that isn't just for Christmas.

It has 6 full sized images, 3 of which are Christmas images and 3 of which can be used whenever. The moustache and glasses image would be a great one for Movember. The stripes would be good for one for a Harry Potter mani, Slytherin obviously. An the stars, well, they could be used for loads of different things, it really all depends on your base and the colour you stamp with or fill in with.

I went for a simple white nail using a gorgeous custom I got a while ago from Polished By Leanne, called Plus10Kapow. Then I stamped in black using Moyou Black Knight and I filled in some of the stars using NYC Lexington Yellow and picked up the stars I didn't fill in with some tape, then I stamped the image onto my nail and topped off with a coat of Seche.

The plate picks up really well and has no imperfections.

You can find stamping plate 15 here as part of the Christmas plate set for £8.63/$11.99 or here on it's own for £1.86/$2.59.

Beauty Big Bang Nail Art Mat and Clear Stamper

Recently I have been playing around a lot with this nail art mat and a clear jelly stamper from Beauty Big Bang. Nail art mats have become a massive part of most nail bloggers set up, it's essential and does so many things, but all of the mats are pretty much the same, and follow the lead of Uberchic's first nail art mat. This one is slightly different though. It has 10 rounded 'nails' on the left of the matte, 5 in black and 5 in white. And it has 10 squared 'nails' on the right, again 5 in black and 5 in white. This makes it really easy to have multiple decals being made at the same time. It also has quite a few swatch circles in both white and black and it has a little ruler down the bottom  which I am sure will come in handy for some.

Espionage Cosmetics Silent Cartographer Nail Wraps

Espionage Cosmetics Cartographer nerdy nail wraps

So tomorrow it's all back to normal. Kian is back to school, yay! I'm back at the gym every morning, yay. Man have I missed the gym. You really notice how much it helps with anxiety and sleeping patterns when you haven't been for more than a few days.

But other than that, things will be pretty, well, normal (read boring). Which is why we make our nails interesting and pretty, to stand out in all the 'normal' and give us little happys throughout the day.

The book in my title photo was from the May 2016 Dungeon Loot Gaming. The chest and ring were from the May 2016 Geek Fuel.

Winter Jumper Nails

I hope you all had a fab Christmas. What goodies did you get? It's amazing how a holiday can proper take it out of you, I feel exhausted and I have barely done anything. But it was really enjoyable and I had a great time, now I just want to get back to the gym.

Today I have these winter jumper nails to show you, using the BeautyBigBang 14 stamping plate.

This plate has 6 full size images, most are great for just standard stamping with one great for reverse stamping. The plate picks up well as the others and has no imperfections. I went with the jumper because it seemed the least Christmassy now that Christmas has passed but the cold is still here.

You can get this plate here for £1.76/$2.39 or you can buy it as part of the set of 5 Christmas stamping plates here for £8.85/$11.99 and you can use my code PLUS10 for 10% off your order.

Polishes used: Barry M Rose Hip, Barry M Gray Matter and Barry M Cotton.
