World MS Day Nails

Every time I do these nails they turn out terrible, so I normally don't do them but I really wanted to do some for World MS Day this year and had a fab idea, it was just poorly executed (Thanks to MS haha)

But this post isn't just about nails, it's about MS too. It's about to get real up in here!

Espionage Cosmetics Twisted Utopia

Espionage Cosmetics Twisted Utopia Bioshock nerdy gamer nails

I feel like it's been ages since I donned some Espionage Cosmetics wraps, I was trying desperately to get all my swatches out of the way and now that I have, I'll be back to my regular Saturday scheduling starting tonight.

These gorgeous Twisted Utopia wraps have been staring/screaming back at me from my stash for ages and now is the time for them to grace my nails with their beauty!

Okoye Inspired Nails

Okoye nerdy nails Marvel Black Panther

I'm on a bit of a Marvel roll at the moment and I recently got to see Black Panther too! I loved it, obviously. Mostly, I loved Okoye! If you don't know who she is then let me tell you a teeny bit about her. She is the General of the Dora Milaje and the head of the Wakanda armed forces. She and the Dora Milaje are are an elite group of kickass women and how can you not think they are awesome?

Okoye's armour inspired me to sketch up some nail art and this is it. It didn't turn out perfect and I really wish I had done my thumb and pinkie better, maybe made the lines thinner and the overall pattern smaller. Plus, I put the triangle studs on my middle finger upside down. BUT, I really love this mani, it was pretty fun to wear and had a bit of sparkle to it and I am really loving coming up with and doing some fun and nerdy nail art again, despite my tremors.

Polishes used: an unnamed sparkly orange indie that I found in my drawer
               Wikkid Polish Tikka Masala
               Polished By Leanne Autumn Leaves
Born Pretty Store Gold Stamping Polish
               MeMeMe Elegant
               Barry M Black Forest
               Barry M Silver Foil
               Seche Vite
The Gold triangles studs and the round flatback studs are both from the same Born Pretty Store stud wheel.

I have got some more nerdy nail art planned and hopefully I can execute them but is there any that you'd like to see me try?

Stay awesome and kickass!

F*ck You Very Much Nails

I don't really swear that much on here but in real life I swear like a trooper, so when I saw this Creative Shop 121 stamping plate come up on NailArtisan, I had to have it. It's a very naughty plate but one that needed to be in my collection.

So for my first mani using it, I wanted it to be the sort of mani that people would be like "Ooh you're nails look pretty, what do they say on them? OH! Oh dear!" and then I would be like, "Yep!hahaha", and I think I achieved it.

The "Fuck. You. Very. Much." came out a little bit hard to read because I don't think I scraped properly but I honestly couldn't be bothered to try again, yeah I'm in that kind of mood.

For the base on my index and middle fingers I used A-England She Walks in Beauty, a very pretty, rose gold glitter polish. I also used this polish for some of the flowers on the other nails. For the flowers on these nails and the base on the other nails, I used Barry M Lychee with a topping of the unicorn pee polish You Dew You from KBShimmer. And for the leaves I used Barry M Spring Green.

I also added the large "Fuck" from the same plate to my thumb. The images on the plate are etched nicely and stamp really well. I love how clear this one came out.

I love this plate so much and Fuck is one of my favourite words so to have it plastered on my nails is cool. It's a very therapeutic word, when things are going wrong or you stubbed your toe, try yelling it loudly. It actually makes you feel better, trust me, there's science in it!

I bought it from NailArtisan for £7 +p&p and you can too! I am trying to plan a mani around the "Fucking Awesome" stamp now and maybe a spermy or dildo mani hahaha!

What do you think of the plate? Would you wear swear words on your nails?

I've got the Power! And Space! And Time! And...

Marvel Infinity Gauntlet nerdy nails Thanos comic book

I finally got to see Infinity War and my emotions are destroyed! It is an awesome movie but I audibly gasped multiple times and stopped breathing a few times, so I wanted to do some nails for it. I also decided I wanted to go back to shorties for a while.

While these Infinity Stone nails are inspired by old school comic book Thanos, they are directly inspired by a patch and pin set from Clay Graham Art. I love the way the stone pins look and decided to give it a go. All of this was freehand and was done all the while my tremors were making themselves known. Why didn't I pick a hobby more suited to someone whose hands don't do what they are told 90% of the time?!

Honestly though, I was gutted when I took photos of these because they just didn't look as good in the photos as they do in real life. Because I used glittery polish for all of them they look fab when the light hits them but that just didn't translate to photo. But ah well, at least I love them, innit?!

Thumb= Reality. Index= Time. Middle= Space. Ring= Power. Pinkie= Soul Stone.

It's definitely a Gauntlet to make Thanos a little bit jealous.

Marvel Infinity Gauntlet nerdy nails Thanos comic book

My thumb turned out to be my favourite, maybe it was because it was the first nail that I did and it didn't go wrong at any point.

Polishes used: Wikkid Polish Mellow Yellow for the base
Polished By Leanne Boys Are From Mars for the Reality stone
Barry M Spring Green with a bit of KBShimmer A Star is Formed mixed in for the Time stone
Barry M Blue Grape with a bit of KBShimmer A Star is Formed mixed in for the Space stone
Polished by Leanne Milky Way for the Power stone
Polished by Leanne Salted Caramel for the Soul stone
Barry M Black Forest for the black outlines and shading
Barry M Cotton for the 'shine'
Topped with a coat of Seche Vite

I really loved doing these nails too because it has been an absolute age since I sat down and did some proper nail art that took my most of the day and hopefully I can come up with some more nerdy nails because that's all I really want on my nails.

Have you seen Infinity War? Thoughts?

Thor: Ragnarok is still my number 1 Marvel movie, I think it's the best one yet! But Infinity War is definitely a close second.

KBShimmer A Star is Formed

A Star Is Formed is the other polish I bought from the KBShimmer Launch Party range and I first swatched it over Spaced Out because it gives a gorgeous galaxy effect.

It is a clear based with a gorgeous micro holo flakes.

But I obviously had to try it over a basic creme polish to see how it looked and it is a gorgeous topcoat to bring a bit of sparkle to any polish.

Again, this is one coat over Barry M Sugar Plum.

It has a fantastic formula and dries really quickly to a semi matte finish. The holo is very showy and you can see the sparkle in natural (non sunny) light and adding a topcoat does nothing but add a bit of shine and protection to your finished mani, it doesn't improve or impede the holo.

I bought this for $12.99 + p&p from Harlow&Co and it is still in stock, so if you need a bit of holo sparkle in your life, go grab it now!

Have you tried any of the other polishes from the Launch Party Collection? Or what are some of your favourite KBShimmer polishes?

P•O•P Polish What a Royal Slick and Slickest of Them All

Have you seen these P•O•P yet? They are the shiftiest polishes I have ever seen and every single polish from them looks amazing! I obviously had to get me in on some of this shiftiness, so I bought What a Royal Slick and Slickest of Them All when I spotted Alex from Nail Artisan post them on Facebook.

P•O•P polishes are vegan, cruelty free and 5 free, they are based in the US but you can grab some of  them from and they are definitely worth checking out. They range between £7.50 and £9.50 on there. Both of these polishes are from the Oil Slick 360 collection.

I hope I have caught as much shift as possible.

What a Royal Slick

What a Royal Slick is a purple/blue/pink/orange/red/green shift. It is perfect in 3 thin coats and I did add a coat of Seche Vite because they do take a little longer than I would like to dry.

I found with What a Royal Slick that the shift was better in natural light instead of my daylight lamp, I got to see more of the pinks and oranges instead of just purple and blue.

Slickest of Them All

Ok, Slickest of Them All is definitely my favourite from the 2 polishes, I am getting a whole Maleficent vibe from this and it was so super shifty in both natural light and under my lamp. Again this was perfect in 3 thin coats and I added a coat of Seche Vite.

Both polishes have a fantastic, light formula and did not stain my nails. They were easy to clean up and easy to remove and they had good wear on them with topcoat.

Loot Crate: Artifacts

April's Loot Crate theme was Artifacts, celebrating powerful objects forged by ancient creatures! This month definitely wasn't one of my favourites.

Barry M Molten Metal Holographics

I fucking love the Barry M Holographic Molten Metals! There, I said it in it's full glory exactly how I was thinking it! But I really do love them! I know we have seen loads of holo polishes and with stronger holo from indies but when it comes to the highestreet holos, Barry M have it completely nailed! Ever since they brought out Holographic Lights last year, I have been hoping with crossed fingers and toes that they would bring out more colours in the range and ok, I wasn't quite expecting these colours but I adore them even more because of that reason, because I probably wouldn't have bought these shades otherwise and would have definitely been missing out.

Here's hoping that some of you haven't seen these yet so you can ooh and aaah along with me here.

Born Pretty Store Destiny Fairy

Ok, ok, I know I said I was obsessed with magnetic polishes but because I clearly become obsessed with sparkly things easily, meet my new obsession: Destiny Fairy glitter gel polish from Born Pretty Store.

These photos are also proof that my gel polish application has improved because this doesn't look thick or bumpy at all. It was lovely to apply and didn't run down into my cuticles the moment it touched my nail.

I applied one coat of Barry M Black Forest as a base for this polish and only needed to apply one coat of Destiny Fairy to get this amount of coverage and one coat of gel topcoat. I cured both Destiny Fairy and the topcoat for 2 minutes each.

The sparkle on it is crazy and the shift is gorgeous too. I added a little bit of accent nail art on my ring finger using Barry M Silver Foil and Uberchic Unicorn Love stamping plate.

I can't comment on removal because I wore a peel off base coat with this.

If you fancy sparkling like a fairy/unicorn/dream then you can find this polish here for £4.78/$6.59 for a 10ml bottle and there are 7 other sparkly and shifty polishes in this range to choose from. Don't forget that if you're shopping with Born Pretty Store, you can use code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

KBShimmer Spaced Out

KBShimmer recently revamped their look and released the Launch Party Collection, a 9 piece, space themed collection, 8 multichrome magnetics and 1 holographic topcoat. And my gawd did I need any or all of these in my collection but at £10 a bottle I needed to trim the list of my wants, so after very lengthy deliberations I chose Spaced Out and one other, which you will see soon.

Spaced Out is a beautiful, magnetic multichrome that shifts from pinks and purples to blues and greens. The magnetic pigment in it is pretty reactive and the finished look gives a kind of galaxy feel to the mani.

The formula is fantastic and with a black base this polish is perfect in 3 coats. It is easy to clean up and easy to remove. I held the magnet over the nail for about 30 seconds over the 3rd coat while it was still wet, this gave me the best effect. Photo shows 3 coats with a coat of Seche Vite.

You can wear these polishes as just a standard multichrome too if you don't want the magnetic effect or you could mix it up and use the magnet to do an accent nail and have just the multichrome on all the other nails.

I bought my bottle from Harlow&Co for $12.99 + p&p but they are also available from Rainbow Connection UK for £10 +p&p but wherever you find them in stock I recommend snatching them up fast because in my experience, these pretties sell out before you know it.

Born Pretty Store Dual-Ended Magnet Stick

As well as that gorgeous Galaxy in Flames polish yesterday, I got to try out this dual ended magnet stick from Born Pretty Store.

This magnet is proper strong and has an instant effect over the polish. This is great for gel magnetic polish and regular magnetic polish for cool and easy nail art.

The rectangle end pulls the magnetic particles into a line while the round end pushes the particles away from it leaving a dark space. In the photo above, I have used the rectangle end on my index and middle fingers and then I have used the round end on my ring and pinkie fingers.

Polish above is KBShimmer Spaced Out and I will have swatch photos on here tomorrow.

As I said in yesterday's post, you only need to hold the stick over the polish for a few seconds for the effect to show but the longer you hold it over the less you get the effect spreading once you have stopped.

If you are in need of a good magnet then you can find this here for £2.17/$2.99 and don't forget that you can use code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Born Pretty Store Galaxy In Flames Magnetic Gel Polish

This is the first time I have ever used magnetic gel polish and I am already in love. I dabbled way back when Barry M released their magnetic polishes and just never really got on with them, but the magnetic effect is so strong in this gel polish that I can see how someone could become obsessed.

This beauty is Galaxy in Flames from Born Pretty Store. It has a black base with an orange and yellow-gold glitter/magnetic particles. Although it has a black base, I highly recommend using a coat or two of black polish under this because once you do the magnet thing it kind of turns into a greyish jelly. This is unnoticeable with the black polish underneath.

So, I applied one coat of Barry M Black Forest, then one coat of Galaxy in Flames and cured it for two minutes, then I added a coat of gel topcoat and cured again for two minutes and bosh. I think my gel application has improved somewhat, which had a hand in making this experience much more pleasurable and this is a polish that I could definitely see myself wearing often and when I need nail art that will last a while.

On it's own, without using the magnet, it's a gorgeous, fiery glitter. I did apply it over my ring finger nail that had already been magnetised but I just wanted to show you how pretty it looks, it could definitely be worn without the cat eye effect too.

When it comes to the magnetising, I held the magnet over wet polish for about 30-40 seconds, but I did find that the longer I held it over the nail, the less likely I was to get spreading, (like on my index finger) before curing.

As for removal, I can't comment on this as I always wear peel off base coat with gel polishes.

If you fancy grabbing this polish or one of the 4 other gorgeous polishes in this range then you can find it here for £2.90/$3.99 and don't forget that when shopping with Born Pretty, you can get 10% off all non sale items when you use code CBAQ10.

Kylo: Diary of a Toy Killer- Chuckit Ultra Ball

So this is the M size of the ChuckIt Ultra Balls but we did originally buy a L size from Waitrose and that's how we discovered these balls originally, but Dad lost it by bouncing it too high, out of the garden. So we bought these in the M size from Amazon because they are so great. They are super durable and super bouncy and great for all kinds of play. We highly recommend them.

Price: £8.64 (although is currently £10.49)
Squeaker: No squeaker
Time it took to destroy: seems to be unbreakable, I have chewed and chewed and chewed, and I left it outside quite a lot. We have played fetch and bounced it super high and still it remains 100% intact.
Level of Destruction: Anger inducingly zero!
