Espionage Cosmetics Jeanne d'Arc

I love this photo but it's annoying me that it is the only one I have for these wraps. I promptly ruined my mani just after this photo was taken, thank you twitches!

But, on the bright side (or not so bright side as it were) It has finally cooled down enough today that I can sit in my garden comfortably, so inspired by these wraps I decided to read a good book.

These are the Jeanne d'Arc nail wraps from the Espionage Cosmetics June NEXUS Literary. They are glossy wraps with gold foil accents on the book pages. I added a matte topcoat to them and I think they look gorge, especially the Coat of Arms wraps. As usual, these applied brilliantly.

These particular wraps aren't available as they were from the NEXUS, but, if you want cool and exclusive wraps like this you can sign up to the NEXUS. This month's theme is Space Odyssey and it is going to be amazing, they have already revealed these wraps and I am in LOVE WITH THEM!!!

Or, if you are just after some pretties now, pop over to the shop and if you haven't already, use code PLUS10KAPOW for 15% off your first order of $25 or more.

Hope you are having an awesome chilled weekend.

Beauty Big Bang Red Stamping Polish

I made it to the last item in this month's review items from Beauty Big Bang and it is a fantastic, red stamping polish! In spite of the heat I managed to knock out a mani I actually really like. I am so glad it is meant to cool down a bit now but I am wishing the days away until Autumn gets here.

This polish is a bright, post box red and it is super pigmented, has a fab formula, stamps well over pretty much any colour and looks great as a regular polish. Plus, it is opaque in one coat. I think it looks fab over black which is really hard to find in ared stamping polish, although that may be changing these days.

The pick up using this polish was great and it picked up easily and completely on any stamper. It stamped onto the nail perfectly and did so even after waiting a fair amount of time between pick up and stamp.

Ok, so because it's red you always get the runaway red pool when you clean up the edges but that was easy to wipe away. I didn't experience any staining and removal was easy.

Polished used for mani: Barry M Cotton, Wikkid Polish Air (gorgeous white, iridescent glitter) Barry M Black Forest and Seche Vite.

You can find this polish here for £2.74/$3.59 and don't forget to use my code PLUS10 for 10% off your Beauty Big Bang order.

Beauty Big Bang Gold Stamping Polish

Anyone else super struggling this week already? Not only is it summer holidays, so there is lots of noise but it's also bloody boiling! And it's meant to get hotter!!! Did you see the Amber Warning that Met Office released saying stay indoors until Friday? I am definitely not looking forward to the next few days. So I thought I would push myself a bit to get something done today, just in case the rest of the week is a write off. And let me tell you, it's not pretty, I am sweating like crazy, tremoring like mad and I can't quite see out of my left eye.

But, today I have this gorge Gold stamping polish from Beauty Big Bang to show you.

This polish is super pigmented, so it stamps great over any colour, including white. It's a yellow-gold so it's very bold over any colour. When over white, it kind of gets a duo-chrome look to it with a little hint of bronze coming through. It also looks great as a standard polish and because it is so pigmented, you only need one thin coat! It picks up really well and stamps to the nail really well, getting a near perfect/perfect stamp every time. Also, bonus, it doesn't have a strong smell.

This polish is easy to remove but clean up can be a bit of a pain because the pigment spreads, almost like glitter and gets everywhere. Comes off with normal soap or handwash though so not too bad.

I was kind of trying to go for an art deco look with the nail art and used an image from Beauty Big Bang BBBXL-004. The black is Polished By Leanne The Unknown and the white is Barry M Cotton, all topped with a coat of Seche Vite.

You can find this polish here for £2.74/$3.59 for a 9ml bottle which will last loads of mani's even if you are using it as a normal polish! Plus, don't forget to use code PLUS10 to get 10% off your order.

Stay safe, stay hydrated and don't forget to check on friends and family that may need help during the heat. Oh, and remember not to take or leave puppers and kittehs and all other types of babies, out in the sun and make sure they have plenty of cool water. And remember, anything over 21celsius is way too hot to take a dog for a walk safely if you have to walk on tarmac or concrete and may not even be a good idea for grass.

Espionage Cosmetics NEXUS: Warrior Women

The June theme for the NEXUS and NEXUS Literary was Warrior Women and instantly when you hear that, I guarantee your mind filled with amazing women that could have been in this month's packs. Wonder Woman was one of my definite hopefuls and I am so glad to see her in here.

Sculpted from Clay: Inspired by Wonder Woman's armour from the current movie incarnation. The gold details are all gold foil. It has a cool, glow in the dark secret.

Whamo-Camo!: A pink camo with pink and black glitter. These look awesome but I have complete brain fog as to what this could be a reference to, if you know leave it in the comments.

Jeanne d'Arc: Inspired by Joan of Arc, these have gold foil accents on the page wraps, with the blue wraps showing Joan of Arc's Coat of Arms.

A Girl Has No Name: These wraps are inspired by Arya Stark's 'Faceless Man' journey, They feature Ary's list along with some scribbles that have been accented with red foil! These also have a pretty cool glow in the dark secret.

Warrior Princess: Inspired by another one of everyone's favourite Warrior's, Xena:Warrior Princess! These are accented with gold foil and a little bit of turquoise foil, can you find it?

I was so stoked to see the Xena wraps in there, those and the Wonder Woman ones are definitely my favourites. I want to wear them but then they are so pretty that I want to save them. Which ones are your favourite from this month?

NEXUS is $15 a month +p&p, subscription packages are month to month, 3 month, 6 month and 12 month with the 12 month giving a saving of around $60.
NEXUS Literary is also $15 a month +p&p with the same subscription packages available.

Beauty Big Bang BBBXL-006

Another Beauty Big Bang XL plate to show you today. For this nail art, I wanted something with a pop of colour and a bit of sparkle. So I decided to go for a galaxy mani. As I was about half way through, it started to look a little like geodes, then after I had finished Jim said that was exactly what it looked like, so I am torn. Which do you think it looks like most? Regardless, it turned out pretty gorge, didn't it?!

The BBXL-006 has a good selection of 7 full size nail images and 18 small images. Loads of the images would be great for reverse stamping and standard stamping with a fun base, but this time I decided to use some of the smaller images and go for standard stamping.

The plate did have a few scuffs on it but that didn't affect the stamping and none of the actual images had any imperfections. Also, I think it might be the heat, directly or indirectly causing it, but I was having a fair amount of trouble picking up images using my clear Beauty Big Bang stamper, but I had no problem picking the image up on both marshmallow stampers and a sticky stamper.

You can find this plate here for £2.77/$3.59 and don't forget to use code PLUS10 for 10% off your order.

I had to put up this photo of the base too because I am completely in love with it.

Polishes used: Polished by Leanne The Unknown, Polished by Leanne Neptune, Polished by Leanne, Polished By Leanne Boys Are From Mars, KBShimmer A Star is Formed and Barry M Cotton. Topped off with a coat of Seche Vite.

The Polished By Leanne Out of This World collection (sadly not available anymore) has been my go to for most galaxy mani's since my Star Trek nails using it. I love the way they look together over the dark base, and the glitters in them give the nail art a fantastic sparkle.

Kian's school breaks up tomorrow and I am not prepared for dealing with that and the heat. I am hoping he puts a lot of work into his Youtube account, which we have recently let him start. If you are feeling generous and haven't already done so, please could you pop over to his account and give him a like and subscribe, we would really appreciate it. He has Aspergers and can find social situations tough, this seems to have given him a boost of confidence and we would love if the community could help boost him a bit more. Thank you in advance if you do and thank you so much to those that already have.

You guys rock!

Beauty Big Bang BBBXL-007

I have been super low in the motivation department this last week! The heat is messing my body functions up really bad and is making me feel super shit, both physically and mentally. I went to Kian's award assembly yesterday and for the rest of the afternoon and evening, and even this morning, I have been feeling pretty crap. So I pushed myself to do Unicorns. Unicorns are good! I needed Unicorns. I am also completely in love this gradient.

This stamping plate is the BBB XL007 from Beauty Big Bang. It has 12 large images and 4 small images. The pick up is great, the images are all etched nicely and there are no imperfections.

You can find it here for £2.75/$3.59 (which is a bargain) and don't forget to use code PLUS10 for 10% off.

Polishes used: Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream, Barry M Greenberry, Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream, KBShimmer You dew You, Barry M Cotton, Barry M Sugar Plum and Moyou Black Knight.

I have found that I am running out of loads of my Barry M creme polishes, most of which they don't do anymore, and these are most of my creme polishes. So which brand of cremes are your favourite?

Espionage Cosmetics Improbable Romance

Ok, so the 2 things in the photo above have absolutely no relevance to each other. Except for the fact that I wanted a speedy but pretty nail look before my BBQ and Espionage Cosmetics nail wraps tend to be the answer to that. And I have been waiting to wear these beautiful, ripply wraps.

As you might remember from literally last week, these wraps were from the Summer Nights NEXUS Literary. They are (I think) inspired by The Notebook and the water ripples have glitter on them to make them look extra pretty when the light hits them. I only just managed to capture the glitter. I was kind of rushing because... burgers, mmmmm!

Don't forget that you can use code PLUS10KAPOW for 15% off your first order of $25 or more when shopping with Espionage Cosmetics, some of them are on sale at the moment so it's the perfect time to grab yourself some pretties.

Anyway, have an awesome weekend, you beautiful people!

Beauty Big Bang BBBXL004 stamping plate

Today I have 2 simple mani's to show because the heat is sapping any and all of my motivation. But this plate from Beauty Big Bang has some fantastic images on it for both simple stamping and reverse stamping.

For this nail art I used Barry m Spring Green and stamped over with Barry M Watermelon, then I topped with a coat of Seche Vite and a Coat of Barry M Matte topcoat. I love this leafy print and I think this one would be fantastic for reverse stamping, lots of different greens and maybe some glittery ones.

For this mani I used KBShimmer PT Young Thing and a coat of KBShimmer A Star is Formed for some extra added holo, then I stamped using Moyou Black Knight. For this image I turned it around different ways on all the nails. I was kind of going for a smashed mirror look, not sure I achieved it but my nails sure are sparkly! This stamp would be great for a stained glass window effect.

The plate has 14 different, full nail images on here and each one of them are pretty big so would be good for most nail sizes and shapes. The images are etched nicely into the plate with no flooding so the images picked up nicely on a stamper straight away. There were also no imperfections.

You can find this plate here for £2.71/$3.59 and don't forget to use code PLUS10 for 10% off your order!

I am currently planning my first barbecue in about 6 years, what are your plans this weekend? Whatever they are, stay safe.

Beauty Big Bang Unicorn Holo Stamping Plate Holder

Holo! I hate admitting it but I have been really struggling in this heat. My tremors are much worse, muscle spasms too, not to mention all over muscle pain and stiffness, but that's all day every day tbf! Cog fog is mental (bahaha), the dizziness is a big ol' dick and the fatigue is pretty hard to push through, it's like wading through quicksand with a thousand souls trying to pull you down to the underworld and you are fighting with the last inch of your ability to not let them get you. So on that cheery note, no nail art today, but let's have a butchers at one of the best things to look at on a sunny day, holo!

Born Pretty Store Astral Realm

This is my final Born Pretty item for this month's reviews. This is Astral Realm, a stunning, magnetic polish from their new range.

Astral Realm is a pink to gold duochrome with a strong magnetic effect. It has a gorgeous light formula, that applied beautifully and was opaque in 3 thin coats. It dries super quick and to a glossy finish.

The magnetic effect looks great and one of the strongest I have seen in a normal polish, it makes for some gorgeous and easy nail art. As it magnetises the polish around it darkens and becomes almost black while the magnetised effect is duochrome and sometimes looks like there are 2 lines.

Photos show 3 thin coats with a coat of Seche Vite.

There are 6 colours in this collection, including Astral realm and you can find them here for £3.91/$5.39 each. Don't forget to use code CBAQ10 to get 10% off all non sale items.

Born Pretty Coconut Cuticle Oil

I have another new/re-branded product from Born Pretty to show you today! This time it is this Coconut Cuticle Oil pen. No nail art today.

It comes in the new, pretty, white and gold packaging and the pen is a shiny silver, which was shrink wrapped for hygiene. I have gone through a couple of different cuticle oil brands in my blog time and this lives up to most cuticle oils I have tried.

The pen form is quite handy and great for keeping in a bag as it is pretty much no mess, which is what I am going to be using it for. You literally just twist the top until a little bit of oil comes into the nib, then rub it on your cuticle area and you're done, you can pop the lid back on and pop it in your bag.

The oil itself is a blue tint and is coconut scented. I love coconut scented things but I think too often they can stray into smelling really synthetic, this oil manages to avoid that problem and the scent isn't too overpowering.

I oil my cuticles pretty regularly, so they weren't dry but this oil felt nice and moisturising. It soaked nicely into the skin and didn't leave a greasy feeling behind afterwards.

It comes in 5 fragrances including the coconut and you can find them here for £2.17/$2.99 and don't forget to use code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.
