Super Love Nails

It feels like I spent forever trying to get a decent photo of this beautiful glitter but my camera was just having none of it today, too much going on in it I think. But you can sort of see how pretty it is, it just looks a little messy too!

So the day of St. Valentine's is almost upon us and of course, there are red hearts and lovey dovey stuff everywhere, but I wanted something, well, super! I saw this gorgeous
"Romance" glitter mix on Charlie's Nail Art and saw the awesome superhero water decals and knew that I wanted to combine the 2 together.

Superman and Wonder Woman's romantic dalliances are often very brief and tend to occur in alternate timelines or in their past, but they would make such a good couple and this water decal of them kissing is perfect for nerdy nail art at this time of year.

You can find the Romance glitter mix here for 75p for a 4g bag, and you can find the Superman & Batman water decals here for 89p. Don't forget to use code CLPK10 for 10% off your order.

Espionage Cosmetics Seraph

This week Supernatural hit their 300th episode! Which is pretty awesome considering how few shows these days actually reach this point, and they definitely worked hard for it, so massive congrats to them. Supernatural is an awesome tv show and one of my favourites, and now that I am (slowly) working through it from the beginning again with Kian and he absolutely loves it, it makes it even more special to me. I love that we get to bond over it and his favourite character is Dean.

To celebrate the 300th episode I am finally wearing the amazing Seraph nail wraps from Espionage Cosmetics. Inspired by everybody's favourite angel Castiel, these wraps are normally glossy but I added a coat of matte topcoat. I also added the angel banishing spell to my finger, stamped from Moyou Gothic 01 using Barry M Siren.

Beauty Big Bang 2-way dotting tool and brush set

Yes, I do have stamping plates from Beauty Big Bang to be getting on with but I am having trouble finding motivation and ideas for them, but one of the things Beauty Big Bang have sent me is this set of dotting tools/brushes and I was pretty excited to give them a go. The tool are double ended with one end being dotting tools and the other end detailing brushes.

Stargate False Gods 2.0

This is the last mani I have done using the the new Barry M Molten Metals. For this one I have used Golden Hour as the base and the bronze/golden shift made me think of the Egyptians, and my obvious segue was to Stargate.

Now, I LOVED my original False Gods mani but I had wished that I had done some more Stargate specific nails. I had used the symbol for Ra but really wished I had done the symbol for Apophis. So this time I did!

Born Pretty Store Peel off Glitter Series: Cold Wind

Have you heard of peel off nail polishes? It seems like loads of people are giving it a go now and I was really interested in finding out what these were like, which is why I chose this stunner from Born Pretty to review.

Netflix & Chill?

I'm still having a bit of a bad day so I am having to shift things around a little so I don't have another day with no post. Luckily, this post is a bit of a beaut! This is another post doing nail art for the Barry M Molten Metals release, and this time, I was using Fuchsia Kiss as a base.

Because Fuchsia Kiss is the perfect polish for Valentine's Day, I instantly thought of kissing (ooooooh) and knowing full well that I had a pop arty kiss image on a Moyou plate, I went with that.

Elsa Nails

By now the snow has almost all melted, I am a little gutted that we only got one good day of snow, but I am glad we got at least that. I suppose I've just got to let it go, until next year anyway!

Kylo's face this morning was hilarious, it was a picture of disgust and sadness, I wish I had managed to capture it but it was very early. The moment she realised that most of the snow was completely gone, it was almost like her jaw just dropped. I have never seen anyone look as gutted as she did in that moment.

Espionage Cosmetics The Last Unicorn

So not only have I been suffering from lack of motivation these last few days, but today I am feeling particularly unwell and progressively so throughout the day. I suspect it's a migraine caused by the heating and the sunshine bouncing off the snow. Because of this, I have been rushing to get today's tasks done today and because of both this and my motivational issues, I am super glad that today is my Espionage Cosmetics nail wraps day.

It took me ages to choose which set I wanted to use today, it's going to have to get to the point where I either close my eyes and choose or I number every set and each week just get a number generator to choose for me. In the end, I chose the very beautiful, The Last Unicorn set and added a glittery accent on my pinkie from the Glitter Jedi approved Feisty Droid wrap set.

The Last Unicorn is an animated, musical, fantasy film about a unicorn who learns that she is the last of her species and sets out on a mission to learn what happened to the rest of her kind. The films has voices of a plethora of familiar names. Definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it before and definitely one of the few occasions I will say that the movie was better than the book.

These beauties are fully licensed and are still available to buy along with 2 other sets that are in The Last Unicorn collection, pop over here to check them out. While you are there check out their featured sale, they've got wrap sets from as low as $4.

Don't forget that you can use code PLUS10KAPOW to save 15% off an order of $25 or more.

Star Trek: Discovery Nails

I know I have a load of stuff to be getting through, and that it is taking me ages to get through it all but for the last few days I have been severely lacking in the motivation department and yesterday, after a whole day of being lackadaisical with everything, I suddenly got the urge to do some Star Trek: Discovery nails. I currently have only watched season 1 because I am saving up season 2 episodes so I can binge them (Netflix has turned me into a monster) but I really enjoyed season 1 and Michael Burnham is pretty kickass.

Princess Peach Nails

I could not have a peach polish, with peach in the name and not do Princess Peach nails with Barry M Peachy Feels as the base, could I?

So I pulled out another barely used BBF stamping plate, this time BBF 76 and went to work. Aside from a few polishes bleeding into each other, I have much love for how this turned out. Peachy Feels makes such a beautiful base, you could do any nail art over it and it would be stunning.

Polishes used: (All Barry M's) Peachy Feels
Black Forest
LE 2013
Pink Punch
Golden Hour
Plumpy Topcoat

I've got a few more manis coming using the new Molten Metals but these will probably be going up next week, so be on the lookout for them.

At the moment, I think I am kind of hitting my own targets for nerdy/fandom nails, which is good for me because normally I set myself targets and then ignore them completely. What characters or fandoms are you hoping to see me do this year?

Don't forget that the Barry M  Molten Metal Nail Paints are now available from Superdrug online and in store, and at

Peachy Keen Nail Art

When Barry M sent over the gorgeous new Molten Metal Nail Paints, they asked if I could do some nail art to go along with them. This time, rather than trying to get multiple of the 4 polishes into one mani, I decided that they were too pretty for that and concentrated on them as the base with corresponding nail art over them. I did 5 manis and this is the first one.

With the stunning Peachy Feels as the base, the first thing that popped into my head was "Peachy Keen!". I went for writing the words Peachy Keen on my index nail and honestly, I think I am making great progress with my tiny, freehand writing, I was quite impressed with it. The N is a bit so-so but we'll ignore that.

I Can Show You The World...

I bought some absolutely stunning glitter mixes from Charlie's Nail Art recently, one of them was Arabian Nights, this beautiful mix of fine and chunky, purple and gold glitters.

As soon as I saw the name, I knew what nail art to do with this one. I have had the BBF 72 stamping plate for ages now and have only used it on a friends nails. So it was time to crack that baby out and get to it.

My favourite part of this movie is Genie! Robin Williams was so good in this role.

Polishes used: Nail Lacquer UK May 18
Nail Lacquer UK June 18
Moyou Black Knight
Barry M Cotton
Barry M Siren
Barry M Cream Soda
Barry M Starfish
Barry M Greenberry
Barry M Surfboard
NYC Lexington Yellow
Seche Vite

As you can see, I haven't used this with gel or acrylic. Although intended for those because they would encapsulate the chunky glitters, you can still get away with using regular polish. The glitter is topcoat thirsty though, I used two coats of Seche and some sneaky little glitters were still poking their pointy ends through and snagging on stuff, so another coat or two would have been ideal.

To apply the glitter I just did a thin coat of Poundland Clear Polish (I used this for stamp decals, it's great) and then I dipped my nail into the glitter, making sure to press down. Then I pressed the glitters on my nail firmly to make sure they were stuck and went over it with a fan brush to remove any stragglers that weren't stuck and that's that!

They are very sparkly too. You can find these glitters here for 75p for a 4g bag. Use my code CLPK10 to get 10% off your Charlie's Nail Art order.

Which Disney film is your favourite? I love most of them but my favourite will always be Lilo and Stitch, although if I had to choose a Disney Princess film, it would be Beauty & the Beast or The Little Mermaid.

Barry M- 4 New Molten Metals for 2019

I had hoped I would get these up last night but that double appointment day has had more of an effect on me than I had predicted. But anyway, today I am going to show you 4 new, stunning Molten Metal releases from Barry M, which they very kindly sent over to me.

This is a pretty photo heavy post but I had to try and capture how gorgeous they are! Lets get into the swatches then! All swatches are without topcoat.

Born Pretty Valentine's Day L009 Stamping Plate

As soon as I saw the Valentine's Day L009 stamping plate from Born Pretty Store, I had to have it! Those tiny, adorable little Boos got me, I needed this plate and it has not disappointed.

For my first nail art, I wanted to do something over the base of my Blooming nail art yesterday. I choose these adorable hugging figures. I added the pop art style "I love you" to my middle nail and then added some hearts to my ring fingers. All of these were stamped using Moyou Black Knight and then Born Pretty Store gold stamping polish, and topped off with Seche Vite.

They plate picked up really well straight away and is etched really nicely. There are about 20 images, although most of them can be broken up to create more images. There is also a nice mix of regular stamping and reverse stamping on the plate. There were no imperfections although I did notice one spelling error, instead of saying "Will you marry me?" in the second image on the top line, it says "Will you merry me?" but that's just me nit picking and honestly it's not a deal breaker.

Obviously I chose it just for the Boos but I later noticed that there is an 8-bit heart with a heart health bar underneath it too, which is so cute. And another image I noticed when I received the plate, that I really like because it kind of reminds me of me and Jim, the speech bubbles on the middle line, right at the end, one of them says "what do you want fartface?" it made me giggle, I love it.

For my next nail art, I obviously had to use the Boos. I did a base of Barry M Berry Ice Cream and stamping with Barry M Sugar Plum, I stamped a circuit board pattern using the Uberchic Geek Love 01 plate. Then I reverse stamped the Boos and their speech bubbles using Barry M Cotton and I reverse stamped the 8-bit heart using Models Own Luminous Red.

I kind of wish I added the health bar hearts to the thumb too but I really like how this whole mani turned out. It's so cute!

You can find this plate here for £2.26/$2.99 and don't forget that you can use code CBAQ10 to get 10% off all non sale items.

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?

Born Pretty Store Blooming Polish- Flowing Fire

I was very interested in trying this Blooming Polish from Born Pretty Store to see what it was like. The photos on the website look so pretty and it looked like it gave a really cool, alcohol ink effect. Well I was right, in a way, because it is alcohol ink but it is still a pretty cool idea and can work, once you get the hang of it, for all sorts of nail art looks.

As you can see, I tried several different ways of trying to see what I could do with it. I tried just moving the bottle brush, with lots of ink on there, across my thumbnail from corner to corner. I tried painting the whole nail with it, waiting for it to dry, then going back in with the bottle brush and dotting several bits of the nails. Then I tried just dotting onto the middle of the nails to try and get a smokey shape to appear. I tried going across from corner to corner with minimal ink on but only barely touching the surface of the nails. And finally I tried painting the whole nail again and dotting with minimal ink on the brush. After these had dried a little I went back in with a small nail art brush and took small amounts of the ink on it and dotted onto different parts of the nails. Then I added topcoat and I really like the way it looks, especially my ring finger.

Born Pretty recommend 'smudging' it with a transparent blooming polish, which kind of gives it the smokey effect I saw on the website. I would think that rubbing alcohol would probably work to give that effect too and all you have to do is kind of dot it onto the bits you want to look more sheer.

If you have several colours it would look pretty lush. Now I know how to get the right effect with this and that I needed the extra ingredient to get the effect I was looking for, I am definitely going to practice more.

You do have to be a little careful though as these can stain your skin a little and I expect dark colours will be little buggers to get off. It was very easy to remove though.

If you are up for a new challenge, you can find the Blooming Polishes here for £2.26/ $2.99 and don't forget that you can use code CBAQ10 for 10% off all non sale items.

Have you used alcohol inks in your nail art before? What did you find was the best technique?

I have done a little nail art for another review using this mani as the base, hopefully that will go up tomorrow, so keep an eye out for that.

Espionage Cosmetics Constellations

I have been absolutely struggling today lovelies. The last few days my insomnia has been pretty bad and today my fatigue has been playing up an absolute bugger, I have proper struggled to get through today and I am honestly surprised that I managed to get these knocked out but I did, woop for me, but sorry if the photos are pretty shit.

I have my bed right under our bedroom window, for 2 reasons, I need the cold air on me through the night and when I can't sleep, I like to open my curtain and look up at the stars. The sky has always been something that cheers me up a bit. It's always beautiful, shit weather, good weather, day, night, there is always something about it that reminds me of the beauty in the world that can seem so lacking in every day life. So, as it was cloudy last night and I couldn't see any stars, I thought I would put them on my nails.

These beauties are Constellations from Espionage Cosmetics. They were in the Space Odyssey NEXUS. They are normally glossy but I added a coat of Barry M Matte topcoat to them.

And they glow in the dark! You can't really tell, because my ability is serious lacking atm but the whole nail wrap except the constellations glow and it makes for a really cool effect. Perfect for if you are looking for stars during an overcast, sleepless night.

Anyway, you can get these here for $8. Don't forget to check out their featured sale and grab some bargains while you are there but also check out their new, adorably awesome stickers too. Oh, and remember, if you spend over $25, use code PLUS10KAPOW to get 15% off your order.

Sending good sleep vibes to everyone tonight! I'm off to bed right now, well, to watch Supergirl in bed!

Beauty Big Bang BBB-008 Stamping Plate

Dudes... there has been snow in the UK!!! By now you probably know that I love snow! I love how pretty it looks, I love how quiet and peaceful it is when it has snowed and I love seeing people have such childish joy building snowmen and having snowball fights and not forgetting the zoomies that Kylo gets, it's adorable. It's a-coming, or at least, it better be!

So when gazing upon this nail art, see it not as a Christmas scene, but as a snowy, finally-winter wonderland, with UFOs and planets because space and snow= yay! I am a teeny, tiny bit disappointed that my little log cabin didn't turn out better but I do kind of really like this mani.

This plate is the BBB-008 stamping plate from Beauty Big Bang. It's a standard sized round plate but rather than have separate images, this plate kind of has one scene on it that is made up of different elements, that you can separate and make you own thing. And there are so many bits that you could do something different every time.

As you can see, mine was pretty  focused on the top half of the plate.

The images are etched nicely, and I got good pick up each time on different types of stampers. The whole plate is basically good for regular stamping and reverse stamping.

Polishes used: Barry M Plum
Wikkid Polish Electric Blue
Barry M Crystal Blue
Barry M Cotton
Barry M Spring Green
Barry M Watermelon
Nail Lacquer UK May 18
NYC Lexington Yellow
Seche Vite

You can find this plate here for £1.53/$1.99 and don't forget to use code PLUS10 for 10% off your Beauty Big Bang order.

Have you had snow where you are yet? Are you a snow lover or a snow hater?

Beauty Big Bang BBB-009 Stamping Plate

Admittedly this isn't my best work, I am still working through some review stuff and trying to make the resulting manis as un-Christmassy as possible, but all while battling through cold intolerance caused by the weather and heat intolerance from the heating, one day I will find my Goldilocks temperature. During the stamping process of this nail art, I had a few tremors, this much is clear but I kind of like how that made it look. It's a little grungy and unfinished looking, which I love.

The Beauty Big Bang BBB-009 stamping plate is a standard, round plate size. It has 4 full nail images and 4 small, related images. All of which are good for regular stamping and reverse stamping. The images are a good size, etched nicely and pick up pretty well.

For this mani, I used the full nail stars image to the left and the stars part of the bottom full nail image.

Polishes used: Barry M Black Forest
Beauty Big Bang Gold Stamping Polish
Barry M Matte topcoat

You can find this stamping plate here for £1.55/$1.99 and don't forget to use code PLUS10 for 10% off your Beauty Big Bang order.
