A Bit of Boy Wonder!

DC Comics Robin Batman Comic Book Nerd Nails

It's the 80th anniversary of Batman today and who better to wish him a happy birthday than his faithful sidekick, the one and only Boy Wonder, Robin!

Before you say anything, yes, I have mixed some of the "ingredients" of Robin's because I have some serious tremors today and my freehand was terrible, see middle finger, so I used the Robin symbol stamp that I had on MyOnlineShop MJ XLVIII. Dick Grayson is my favourite Robin, just in case you wanted to know that fact, who is yours? And I have realised that outlining things, especially with tremors, is harder than tiny writing!

Maniology Women's Empowerment Stamping Plates

If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my story showing the Maniology Ambassador goodies I received. In there were these 2 Women's Empowerment plates, which I love! There are so many different mani's that you can do with each plate but let me show you what I did with them.

Beauty Big Bang Clear, Rectangle, Silicone Stamper

Due to this being the Mondayest of Tuesday's, and a massive migraine and neuralgia flare, you are getting a look at this Beauty Big Bang stamper today. Not that this is a bad thing, this stamper is pretty decent and if you know me, you know I have a shit ton of stampers and I am never going to be mad about adding another. How many stampers is too many stampers?

This is the clear, rectangle, silicone stamper from Beauty Big Bang. It measures roughly 3.8cm x 2.6cm, has an open end at the bottom and has Beauty Bigbang printed on the side. It also comes with the standard, credit card sized, flexible scraper.

My Nail Care 101

I don't really like to do this type of post normally because even though I have been at this a while now, I wouldn't ever consider myself an expert of any kind, but I do often get asked what products I use so I thought it was about time to put up a post detailing my own personal dos and don'ts. If you have anything specific that really helps you that I don't mention, let me know.

This post is very long, so strap in and get ready to read a lot.

Mani X Me Monthly Express Kit March 2019 Aloha, Beaches!

Maniology Mani X Me March Express Kit 2019 Aloha Beaches subscription

Hi. My name is Chrissie and I have no idea what to do with flowery stamping plates! Which is very annoying because the plates in the Aloha, Beaches Mani X Me box are so bloody pretty!

So Maniology are based in Hawaii, which is kind of cool and makes a lot of us, I'm sure, pretty jealous. So this month, they decided to give us all a taste of paradise with some Hawaii themed plates and, if you bought the main Mani X Me Monthly box, 2 Hawaii inspired polishes. The extra this month was a pretty decent sized tin of Surfers Salve.

Lets have a look at my terrible attempts at using these beautiful plates.

Mr. Stark, I Don't Feel So Good!

Mr Stark, I don't feel so good! Spider-Man nerdy nails, Marvel Avengers Infinity War

Too soon? It's still pretty gut wrenching to think about but I kind of had to do it. I wonder how many of you thought the same thing yesterday, when you saw the Beauty Big Bang XL-067 stamping plate, if you did, you may recognise part of one of the images on my nails.

St. Patrick's Day nails using Beauty Big Bang XL-067 Zoya Elphie

I am having quite a lot of little flare ups lately so it's been quite tough getting stuff done but I had to push myself to get this plate up for today! It's very pretty and perfect for the occasion.

Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend

Marilyn Monroe rhinestoned nails

I had more usual, regular Blood tests on Monday but where as before it would take me the rest of that day to recover, it's now taking over 48 hours to recover. Today I felt well enough to actually get some stuff done, but it was a bit like trudging through thick mud again. I went with a fairly easy, one polish, water decals kind of look but added some gems too, and to make it better, I added them to my middle finger so if I give someone the finger they know I am not only pissed off, but a little bit extra hahahaha!

Espionage Cosmetics D20 Lace

Espionage Cosmetics D20 Lace nerdy nail wraps

I have been trying since yesterday to get some good photos of these beautiful D20 Lace wraps from Espionage Cosmetics but my photos definitely DO NOT do them justice!

If you're like me, the moment you bought your first set of dice that was it, you were down the rabbit hole of needing every collection ever! There is something about these little numbered shapes that makes me happy! I keep mine all mixed up in a corked jar and I love the way it looks on my shelf, but I will always need more. So these wraps were perfect for me.

These wraps are glossy, transparent wraps with a black "lace" design featuring lots of D20's.

Beauty Big Bang XL-042 and Some Extraordinary Nail Art

Beauty Big Bang XL-042 stamping plate

Today I have the Beauty Big Bang XL-042 stamping plate to show you and for my first look I used a base of Wikkid Polish Lavender although I completely forgot until now that this beauty is a thermal and my hands are so cold that it was just all, constantly purple. I then stamped a few images on my nails using the Beauty Big Bang Gold stamping polish and topped with Seche Vite.

Beauty Big Bang XL-040 stamping plate

I read somewhere that dark florals are very in at the moment, not that I have any idea about the world of fashion and what is "in", I live in Wild Bangarang leggings and Jordandene tank tops because, well, comfy. But, when I saw the XL-040 stamping plate from Beauty Big Bang I really wanted to do something "on trend" with some dark floral nail art.

I started with a base of Barry M Black Forest, then I pulled out what was left of my old Danglefoot Nail Polish neons from the Live Colourfully collection way back in 2016 and got to reverse stamping. I am looking forward to seeing what neons come out this spring/summer. The end result didn't turn out exactly as I had imagined it but I am still kind of here for it.

Training to be Batman

Batman Nails comic book inspired nerdy nails

It's been a hot minute since I did a Batman mani but I saw the combination of these 2 water decals sat on my desk and I thought it was time for another one! And it just so happens that I am, in fact, training to be Batman! Well, I'm pushing my workouts to a new level anyway and I feel pretty badass about them most of the time, so I at least like to think that I am training to be Batman!

I used the Batman decal from this set on my ring finger, then on the rest of my nails I used a base of NYC Lexington Yellow, stamped using Maniology BM-412 (10% off PLUS10KAPOW) and Moyou Black Knight, then I outlined each yellow nail with a brush and Barry M Black Forest, then I added the comic book callouts using decals from this set.

The callout decals really impressed me! They are super vibrant and look amazing on dark colours too, look at the 'POOF!' decal on my pinkie where it crosses over the black, or the 'AARGH!' green on my index where it crosses over the black. They lay flat instantly and were so easy when it came to placement and getting it exactly where I wanted it. I love these, I'm so glad I bought 2 packs now.

I topped it all off with Barry m Matte topcoat to give it more of a comic book page look and I am pretty in love with it tbh.

You can use code CLPK10 for 10% off your Charlies Nail Art order, and don't forget to check out the new Easter nail art items, there's some super cute stuff in there.

Which superhero is your favourite? Or is it a villain that is your favourite? Have I done nail art for them?

I'm a Clam, Beach! Using Barry M Under the Sea Polishes

Barry M Under the Sea nail polishes

Here is my final nail art using the Barry M Under the Sea polishes and I kind of, really love this one.

My cog fog fully took over on this one and I honestly got clams and oysters confused! I know, right?! I was trying to do a fun play on the name of the pink polish, Oyster Beach and by the time I realised that oysters and clams were different, I had already planned the whole mani and was invested. So even though the name didn't work out, the nail art turned out really pretty.

So I did these over a black base again because I love how the polishes look over black, the gradient is of Sea Turtle and Dragonfish.

Polishes used: (All Barry M) Black Forest
Sea Turtle
Coral reef
Oyster Beach
Plumpy topcoat

Stamping plate used: a Finding Nemo plate from AliExpress
I can't remember what plate I used for the swirls.

These beautiful polishes are available now from and Superdrug instore and online for £3.99 each.
